Ralph,
Looking really good - you have obviously put a lot of time and effort into this project. I hope the beta testing goes smoothly for you! :)

Ralph,
that really does look superb! How many months of work would you "guestimate" on the project?
And it looks like you put in as much time building your dedicated website. VERY interesting stuff there. Just started to read up there. Thanks for taking the time as it makes for good study for us other nubie designers.
I noticed you mentioned you use polys not longer than 200m for FSX taxiways, runways due to Earth's curvature. But I read here 100m should be the max. Is it really just up to the modelers discretion how long to make them?
Again, thx
Ground polys. I use big meshes, some over 1000m.
Use LOD technique:
1. first detailed textured mesh 1-3cm over flatten ground (LOD 1200)
2. second proof textured mesh 15-20cm over flatten ground (LOD 1190)
3. empty (LOD 0050)
Every point in the first mesh is (round earth) corrected.
Mesh is 1000m, sub segments 100, 200 or 250m
Less = easy correct
I use the follow height correction: 1000m = - 8cm (0.08)
Center point is +0.03 above ground, next segment height point after 250m is +0.01
1000m = 8cm -> 250m = 2cm -> 0.03 -0.02 = 0.01
Finally I have a curved mesh.
Works perfect...

Hey Ralph, do you have an ETA yet, i.e 2008 or 2009
Also, did you get rid of the annoying bug in FSX/FS2004 with this airport where AI Aircraft won't take off from runway 24 because they have to cross RWY 15 to get to it and they hang up at the ILS stop point at taxiway Foxtrot (I think). I used AFX to get rid of that taxiway in order that aircraft will use RWY 24.
And do you need any more beta Testers. I spent A TON of time in Shearwater (I am Cdn Mil)
Problem with runway crossing solved. AI works fine.
New AFX is "crosswind" ready. New features are SIRO and RWSL.
And now in wintertime a Simconnect snowplow!
PS: New runway numbers 5/23 and 14/32

What GMAX sdk are you using?
How are you exporting the model?
Your airport looks impresive.
Thanks Glenn
WOW... beautiful ILS lights runways, how could you do that? fully from gmax right?

would you teach us some trick to make some like that? :D please...
Really seems impressive work, honestly looks amazing, one of the best airport scenery addon ive ever seen.
Also, I was wondering if simaddons were taking requests, I was looking to get a specific airport scenery created for me, would be great if we could talk about it.
Thank you for your time.

OH Ralph, all I can say is When and Where... Hfx is my home town so I want it as soon as I can get my hands (or Joy stick) on it? I worked the Ramp at Stanfield back in the summer of 78 so this will be huge for me. If you still need any Beta Testing done I would love to be able to help???

Hi Ralph,
Just found your Stanfield project a few days ago. It is absolutley fantastic. As a former AutoCAD Learning Center manager I can appreciate the skill you show in your drawing development Like those in previous posts I can hardly wait for your release to be available. It will provide us Nova Scotians and others some great flying in FSX.
I live in Yarmouth and would be happy to provide digital photos of the Airport or the Yarmouth Light and Keepers Building if you require any. I have a file of digital photos on the Airport that I did for a chap out west a few years ago but his project was not completed.
I see you have a comprehensive list of Beta Testers already, but if you want one from down at the West end of the province, I would be available.
Will be following your progress with interest

Hi again,
Not sure if it's been mentioned before, but will there be a FS9 version?I don't think I can use FSX at all....really not smooth enough.I know many options seem like they would only work with FSX,but still a "downgraded" version for FS9 would be great.
Good luck with the project.

Hi Ralph,
Just wondering(read very anxious) how are things in the beta stage.I have now reinstalled(and tweaked) FSX only to use your scenery.Being from CYHZ and actually minutes from CYAW,I can't wait to use it.I think it's going to be the best thing since sliced bread :)
If I can be of any help let me know.
