Hi Arno,
this FSx object model (static aircraft) wont come in correctly.
Some triangles of the upper right wing root are missing.

It has been built by a fellow of VVT using the latest version of FSDS.
In case you are interested in this beautiful ultra-light airplane the zip file also includes the (real) builder home page.

Cheers
Gian Paolo (under a big snowstorm)

INtgerestingly, with the latest (2008-11-27) build, also with a model coming from FSDS, I have, not merely missing "faces" but whole parts missing, something that did NOT happen with previous builds. MCX build .055 is my "control"

.... and the part names still start with a number, not an alpha character.

Reinstalled and checked with 0.55 - Same triangles missing.

Hi,

I see your problem, I'll put it on the todo list. I think the polygon is not missing, but drawn facing the wrong side.

Hi Felix,

Any example of this trouble? That might help to find the problem. I am not aware of changes I made to the FSX MDL importer, but you never know :).

About the 3DS exporter, I am sure I changed that. Are you sure you are not using some old DLL files by accident as Gian also had a while ago?

Hi Gian,

I found the bug, should be solved in tonight's build.

Hopefully the problems of Felix are also solved with this build :).

I confirm - parts once lost are now importing correctly.

The curious thing was that as I rechecked the 3DS model with 3D explopration, the parts were there. I identified the part names from 3D Explporation and looked them up in the imported gmax model, and while listed, the geometry was not visible.

Either way, the lateste download (2008-11-28) appears to have fixed my findings. The missing parts import correctly, and the parts are now labeled with starting letters, instead of numbers.
