I've been working in this scenery for 10 months.
If you know how to create some AI scenery and want to participate let me know.

Looks splendid and detailed. Looks like a winner. I have a USCG CGAS around Brooklyn that really needs great New york Scenery.

WOOOOW!! Cool man! It's a shame that the ground textures are so blurred...

thats what I was going to say...

Looks great, but it would be even better if you added ground textures

Well, those are the default textures in FS2004, if someone knows how to improve those textures and wants to help. I don't really know how to do it.
Another way to help improve this scenery will be if someone can make some AI helicopters flying around Manhattan , AI Ships, AI boats, etc.
I can provide the 3D models, you will just have to work the tracks.

ok guys, I was really anxious of sharing this scenery with all of you as I have done with Shanghai, Kuala Lumpur and Manila, I had plans to release the scenery by July 4, 2009, unfortunately my computer died 6 months ago and my new PC which work in 64bit doesn't support FSDS2
Does FSDS3 support 64bit?
Fortunately most of the work is saved...

Looks very nice... I used fsds3 before i switched to gmax... never tried running it on a 64bit platform. good question...

something to think about with regards to the ground textures for nyc, is that if someone employs satellite ground imagery, then all of the autogen trees and buildings will go bye bye... the only 3d goodies will be your custom buildings...anything relying on 'fill' from the autogen will disappear. i think the default ground is satellite but the 4.7 meter/pixel limit on generic vtp ground tex over mesh.

there lies the conundrum..... (look ma, i got to use a fancy word)

Hi Nestor,
Your scenery is awesome. Why don't you make ground poly with satellite photo?. It will make more realistic and better than photoscenery. I'm making that way with Bangkok too. Unfortunately, Bangkok is much bigger than Manhattan and I'm not sure whether I can finnish my project with groundpoly. However, I think for the size of only Manhattan, it will not too difficult to do it. Don't care with autogen since it will disappear anyway with those buildings. Are you going to distribute this as freeware? If that is correct, I can help you with that. I can make ground poly for you with night light. Please e-mail to me in detail. We can work this out together. But you need to know that I have other projects in my hands too. Nevertheless, just ground poly will not take too much time to do.
Take a look at my project: http://www.thaiflight.com/mach/modules.php?name=Forums&file=viewtopic&t=39649&postdays=0&postorder=asc&start=40

The good news is that after losing my old computer and several buildings with it, I have resumed working in this Manhattan scenery, I still have a long way to go, soon I will post more captures.

I dont know yet, I'm still working on it...

Some textures are real photos that I retouch with Paint or Photoshop.
