Hi!

Is there a way to convert FS9 MDLs into FSX MDL so that they can be opened in ModelConverterX? Or maybe another tool to convert FS9 MDL into 3DS?

Thanks

Mike

Hi,

Strange, I tried it but it didn't work for me, it was giving me a message that it's an unsupported MDL.

Hi Folks

spielbergsp -
FS9 aircraft models are not supported ATM. (Edited to correct info)

Object might also be an FS8 model.
Use a hex editor to view/check.

ISTR that FSDS objects were also a problem.

Not so sure about that last statement.

Take the Nimitz FSDS FS8, e.g. or the mcdiraq scenery library objects, or JAGL04's Reina Sofia frigate, or all the maiw scenery objects. They can (almost) all be converted and used in FSX. And even API's can be converted.

Hi,

Small correction. FS2004 scenery MDL files are supported at the moment, FS2004 aircraft MDL files are not. For best results use the latest development release though, it has many improvements over the 1.0 release.
