I created an object in Sketchup and applied an external texture named light_nav. I exported, imported into ModelConverter, changed the texture named in the material list to light_nav, and exported. Used the MDLtweaker "fix bgl lights" feature and compiled the object into a library. When displayed in FS9 there is no beacon light effect. Is this just something that I'm not going to be able to do in Sketchup? :confused:
When exporting from ModelConverterX special names like light_nav have no influence. So it is not possible to get this functionality at the moment.
If you are exporting to the FSX MDL format you could use a attachpoint editor and add a "Light" object. While exporting to FSX these are placed as effect files. I am not sure if that also works for the FS2004 exporter, maybe I should try to export with the BGL_LIGHT for that one.
