Installed Model Converter X 1.1 yesterday. After installing, I went to FSDS 3.5.1
and selected a fsc file I had been working with. The files loaded up everything "except" the 3D view screen. I went to the Solid View Control to move the Zoom slider. When I start moving the slider, I get this message in a FSdesign 35 window: Direct X error (887602f8) Render Target Buffer lost. Unknown Direct X error.
This is the very first time I have "ever" received such a message. I have XP home 32 bit SP3 operating system with 4 GB of ram.
Today I reinstalled the latest version of Direct X and in the control panel Repaired FSDS. Same problem occurs.
And, I still get a error message when I open Model Converter X.
Have you encountered this problem before?
Thank you for your time and appreciate any help.

Hi,

The Render Target Buffer Lost message is a common one, unfortunately.

Sometimes the fix is to use this patch from MWGraphics:

http://www.btinternet.com/~mnwright/programs/fsds.htm

(It sometimes works with FSDS3 as well.)

Other than that I've not found any cure...

Hope this helps,

I had forgotten about that patch!

Once installed, it's good to keep it handy, since *sometimes* updated video drivers and &. will cause the problem to return..

Hi,

The errors you describe are they in ModelConverterX or in FSDS? You mention an error in ModelConverterX as well, what does that one say?
