I've noticed that KML is rather similar to XML, been reading up on Google Code on the KML structure, as I like the new Google Earth, yet as we all know FSX KML isn't possibly going to evolve further unless Matthew decides to return. However we have a lot of incredible minds and talents and feel we should look at developing a similar program yet with more features

basically is FSX-KML just basically a utility to convert from KML to XML and obviously then through FW tools and the SDK produce the end result?

There are some utilities to convert KML to SHP files. SHP files can be imported to SBuilderX.

Alternately, you could use RingPiece to place KML info into SBuilder or SBuilderX:

Ring Piece may have problems with the newest version of Google Earth.
