I just had a thought - Is there a font anywhere that represents the numbers etc, displayed on runways?

Ive checked some font websites trying my luck, but usually i dont get one which is exact: would be nice if somebody made and ICAO font :rotfl: !
Anyways, what you can do is take the font which seems closest to what you need, and then use the "create text" function in gmax to type it. Then you can convert to editable poly and work with the vertices to mold it to however you want it.
Each letter/number is 1 plane, so polygon increase shouldnt be too much. I did it with the "FULL TURN" text at my gates and also with the "10" and "28" rwy ID's on the rwy. It works, but it takes a little time.
Alternatively you could search for rwy images (top down; google earth perhaps?) and copy and paste, and then edit them in PS or PSP as textures. The nice thing about modelling them is that you get damn sharp images. Just a thought ;) ...

I've sorted it for now - its only numbers I need, so I've been making runways in AFCAD with the right number on and a runway rotated directly north/south, and then just taking a screenshot :D
