View Full Version : Gelnhausen [EDFG]
Hi,
I'm developing the Airfield of Gelnhausen at the moment.
It's my first attempt to design a scenery so please be kind :)
Here are some screens:

A few dynamic objects are still missing.
Thanks go to all posters of this board for writing their helpful posts.
Special thanks go to Arno and GianP for their tree librarys.

Hi Daniel,
I've just had a look at some real world pictures of your airport, and it looks like you are a talented scenery designer!
I've never been to Gelnhausen, but the name rings a bell. I wonder if one of your dynamic objects will be an athlete running the 400 meter hurdles...
Dirk
Hi,
thanks for your positive feedback.
I've just seen that only 1024 frames per object are permitted, but this isn't suifficant for driving up and down the airfield, so I guess I'll make them static.
I'm currently beta-testing the airport with some member of our local club, so it could be available in a week or two.

Daniel

Hi,
Arno found a workaround for the 1024 frames problem. You should find more info somewhere around these forums.
You could use a tool like "Busy Objects", and then there's always the old AFCAD/TTools method.
But all these are rather complicated, and from what I understand, ground traffic will be so much easier to create in FSX!
Dirk
Hi,
now I'm ready to release the airport after a meeting and (hopefully *sigh*) a clearance from the flying club's head.
The ground poly has got a new alpha channel, which lets it integrate smoothly into the default scenery (or SG4).
@Dirk:
Eigentlich könnten wir auch Deutsch sprechen ;)

Hi Daniel,
have noticed the Gelnhausen-Scenery very late but want to congratulate you to the result. Very nice scenery, if you plan to make more of them in the Rhein-Main-Area please let me know.
