Hi Folks,

trying several days to ask after a simple tool for FLIGHT DYNAMICS editing
I will show you for what I need it.

I use FSX. Can you tell me a tool which I can adjust the AIR.FILE simply.

Try AirEd available at avsim.com:)

File Description:
AirEd(itor) has become one of the most versatile .air-file editors for MSFS 2000 up to 2004/FS9. For FS9 in particular the treatment of section [1101] has become pivotal for tuning the aerodynamics of FS9 aircraft. Yet, for many users the expert jargon remains obscure. Yahia now provides more information on [1101], making tuning easier to understand! References to the CFG file are made as well. Just right-click on an item in [1101] to see new amendments, test values and hints. Some divert from earlier insights or explain where things can go wrong. Also about taxiing are some new hints. AirEd now becomes an easy to understand "Must Have" for everybody interested in tuning FS9 aircraft.

Stefan, nice aircraft! :) ;)

Did you see the movie "Aviator"? I really liked that H1, which was all metal and shining. Will you include such a livery?

Yes, I actually felt romantic with that aircraft when I saw the movie.

There were two version built, one with short wings (24 Feet Wingspan)

FOR THE SPEED RECORD 1935

the other with longer wings (32 Feet Wingspan)

FOR THE TRANSCONTINENTAL OVERLFIGHT RECORD with additional fuel tanks.

I will build both versions with different flight characteristics they had.

The short wings version flew fast but take offs and landings were more a

kind of controlled crashes, because of the smaller lift amount of the wings.

You had to straight dive in and pull her just moments before touchdown.

The longer wings are more gentle to fly and that bird had at 332 MPH

average speed a range of LOS ANGELES to NEW JERSEY NONSTOP!

And that for 1935!!!

Show me a plane today of that class that does the same.

Todays flying is often more for computers that feeling humans.

Its a fact, that when you go up without asking for allowance, you get

a pair of air force fighters faster then you think on your six.

And when I build this artwork of human creationship, I remember those

days of Howard Hughes and Antoine de Saint-Exupéry.

That saw what would come...

To the metallic shine: Its already included and works well also on the
other parts...

Please see the pictures.

Currently the project has reduced to edit the flight characteristics.

I wait for photos and documents from the National Air and Space Museum
Washington D.C. for original cockpit reference. I want to make it 1:1 and so
I take the time it needs.

If this one will fly as good as it looks you will be my hero. :) ;)

..I will do my best that you feel the ache in your muscles next day

when you pulled out of the dive with 5 G.

Looks very nice brother23, especially the blending of the control surfaces to the fuselage.

For airfile editing I use Aircraft Airfile Manager another freeware utility.

...normal maps are also coming for the surface bumps.

But for now I want to finish the cockpit.

The final aircraft will also have a special camera view for the seat up position.

The seat up position was REALLY a mechanically moveable seat that could

be rolled forward and up a couple of zolls, so that the poor view while

taxing was minimized. This will enable also a nice view while flying a head

lenght over the canopy.

The mondernized copy of Jim Wright hasnt had this option. They thought

over it, but imagined the possible heavy injuries of the pilot while a aircraft

turnover. Not very nice for the backbones.

Howard Hughes in 1934 dont thought over it. He wanted the speed world

record, dead or alive.

Stefan, do you develop this aircraft for Aerosoft? :)

...it was an adventure. I tried to do something new in my life. Havent anything done in computer game real time graphics, I had to learn a lot.

I didnt thought to come so fast so far.

Night for night I was reading reference material and the FSX SDK. The SDK was problematic because it is like swiss cheese: Too many holes that break the chain of understanding and the frustration grew.

At that time I tried this forum a learned further steps. I came back and tried to help others. After I finished this project I will come back and teach what I learned. I simply will give you back as much I can.

Now the project has developed well and my self confidence in the creation of game real time content has grown to a level where I think to do it professionell.

I still work hard, because I have another main job to do to pay my bills.

I tried several companies but aerosoft was a very lucky selection for distribution and is.

And since I had to reduce my sleeping periods to a minimum and my gilffriend
wants his man back soon I have to do my best to bring excellent quality.
