View Full Version : SimConnect - Reading out aileron and elevator position of autopilot
since two days i'm trying to get the "theoretically" values of aileron and elevator position, if the autopilot is on and holding, for example, the high. Anyone an idea?
Thx, and best regards
I'm not sure what you mean by "theoretically"...
I can think of 3 values: the actual position of the elevator, the elevator position commanded by the autopilot and the yoke position.
Related will be these simulation variables:
YOKE Y POSITION
ELEVATOR DEFLECTION PCT
ELEVATOR TRIM POSITION
ELEVATOR TRIM INDICATOR
ELEVATOR TRIM PCT
I guess the AP will set one of the first two values. The other two will change accordingly. For an airbus, the FBW might control the elevator trim as well.

I only know, that these information stands in the aircraft.cfg. I have not found a variable in the simconnet SDK for this information.
elevator_up_limit = 28.0 //Degrees
elevator_down_limit = 21.0 //Degrees
aileron_up_limit = 20.0 //Degrees
aileron_down_limit = 15.0 //Degrees
rudder_limit = 24.0 //Degrees
elevator_trim_limit = 19.5 //Degrees
Look in the SDK under Aircraft Controls data.
Percent elevator input deflection
Position (-16K to 0) -16K = full down
then you may be able to use the cfg files
