View Full Version : SBuilderX Photoreal groundtextures tutorial
I read this:
If you right-click on the edge of the Map, you can bring up its Properties window: {see attached image}
But I get another window when i do this, with Name, Center, Aircraft to here, zoom in, zoom out, etc (see image
Any hint what i am doing wrong?
Thanks in advance!

Hello,
If you get the Properties of the PROJECT instead of the Properties of the MAP it is because you are right clicking an empty part of the display. Please make sure that you click over the EDGE (border) of the map. If you do it with the left mouse you select the map (the border becomes green). If you rigth click the MAP properties window pops up.
Kind Regards,
Luis Sá
hi Luis,
Whatever i try i never get the Map Properties...I feel so stupid:confused:
I have attached a screenprint of SBuilderX exactly with what i see of my scenerypart.
Can you please tell where (at what point) to click with the R-mouse?
Thanks again Luis!

Hi
An image is worth a thousand words! :)
First switch off Background View - you placed a map on the SBuilderX display and you do not need to download tiles. Then roll the mouse wheel to Zoom Out until you will see the 4 borders of the map. Then click on any of them!
I hope this is that simple!
Kind Regards,
Luis

Hi,
I was wrong! :o
Please open the INI file and edit this line:
BorderOn = True
Then you will see the borders of the map! And the reason you were not clicking on the borders was because some tiles did not exist at the target zoom. You should go to that zoom level and span the area until all tiles are loaded and then repeat again. When a tile does not exist a blank (and WHITE tile) is placed instead. I will use another color next update.
Kind Regards,
Luis
ps: a side note to my previous post - SBuilderX automatically switches Background View to off.
Hi Luis,
Just to inform you.
At last...i didn't change anything at all, but suddenly the right window with the map-properties opened!
It was just me, the user, who made the mistake!
Thanks again for SBuilderX, the tutorial and the help. afterwards.
Kind regards
Bert

In FSX, no. In FS9 there are certain features that are unlocked with a paid registration, but the free registration still enables most all functions.

Hello Lance,
I am sorry to correct you but you can use SBuilder for FS9 free of charge for freeware work. You need to register to get a password but the password costs nothing.

Luis

OK, can I get my SB 2.05 registration fee refunded?;)
It was money well spent, as SB 2.05 worked well for my projects, just as SBX handles most of my needs for FSX. Your time and efforts are appreciated, here on the left coast of the U.S.
Luis,
I have made some photoreal groundtexture of different sizes.
I have used the 2 metodes described in the tutorial.
My question is there a difference in using one big size or 10 small sizes?
When testing during a FSX flight, the origanal FSX groundtextures are coming over the new photoreal groundtexture when i use the biggger one.
Please see the attached screenprint.
Regards
Bert
