This is what it says.
Font 'Aerial Narrow" does not support style "Bold"

Am I doing something wrong here?
It went through the decompling process etc.

Larry

Not my area of knowledge but someone in Europe or here on the East Coast will be along shortly to help with a fix.

Larry

Can you give me a bit more detail about when and where this happens please?

Yes. After double clicking the airport, KSEA in this case. I will try and get a screenshot and attach it with all the error lines.

Larry

I presume you are opening a stock airport then?

Screen shot and error report would be a great help. We are adding logging to the application at the moment which will help track this sort of thing down.

My guess is that you may have a missing font on your system Larry. I am seeing the same in XP as George sees in Vista

It's been ages since I've been in this area. How do I get that window up please?
I don't see it in Display Properties.

start -> Control Panel -> Fonts will get you a list of Fonts on your System. Alternavely to just get a list of fonts open a Word processor such as Word or WordPad to see a list of Fonts on your system.

EDIT - on my system opening Fonts from the control panel shows that I have Arial Narrow Bold (True Type) and the file name is ARIALNB.TTF. That would be the one that you are missing I think. It is part of the default install.

Just looked. I have that one.
EDIT:
Ok. I can get to the airport by using the AirportList option.
That will work, but I'm still wondering why I can't use the ICAO under search and Find.
Thanks for your help Jon and Jim.

Can you make sure it is installed? Also check that you have the other Arial Narrow fonts

I have, Arial Narrow Bold ( true type )
and, Airal Narrow Bold Italic ( true type )
How do you make sure they are installed?

Do you also have Arial Narrow? I guess if they are in the list they are installed - I am no expert at this but it the only thing I can think of that will cause the error you report

Let me have a bit of a dig around

I found a free font viewer at

http://www.ampsoft.net/

This will tell you what is installed and what is not. Also show if the font can be displayed correctly.

Thanks again Jon.
Yes, according to FontViewer, Arial Narrow is installed, and also, subfamilies:
Bold - Airial Narrow Bold>> arialnb.ttf
Bold Italic - Airial Narrow Bold Italic>> arialbi.tff

So it seems all is in order, at least to me. I'm sure you have other things to do right now, and as long as I can use the ADE program, we can go through this problem at a later date.
I sent the link to the FonViewer site to a friend who was looking for a specific English font, and he found it there. So a positive came out of that, and he is into fonts I guess, retired IBM guy, maybe he and I can come up with an answer to my problem, and if we do, I will post back.
Thanks again, and,
Happy Holidays.

Don't ask me how, but it's working using the ICAO option now.
It must be the almost gentle caressing I gave it, lol.

Hmmm - well at least it seems to be working for you now.
