Very impressive!
It's amazing how good the little grass tufts at the edge of taxiways make scenerys look, but no-one ever seems to put the effort in.
You win the internet :D
EDIT: Haha, reading this back it looks really really sarcastic, but it's not meant to be!
Update: Lightmaps!

really impessive work.Just one question, how do you make your grass so deatailed up close??im creating grass for dublin airport but cannot get great detail. Are you using a noise texture??
i used a plane with the photo texture. over this plane is a second one with a detailed, tileable texture. next i set the opacity in gmax to 20-30% on the detailed map. thats all :)

I messed around there for a while and came up with this. Its basically just a noise texture underneath the grass and the grass is slightly transparent.Sorry for hijacking your thread. Thanks again,
Terry

excellent work, looks so real...With my noise texture i used a 512x512 bitmap and i repeated this with uvw mapping about 60 times over a 3000m length.Would repeating it so many times result in a loss of frame rates??Great work again..
Terry
I use a 256x256 detail map. i dont know how often this map repeats, but its a lot more than 60 times :D The Detailmap repeats every 5 meters.
Excellent! :) How long have you been working on this?
on the scenery we work now nearly a year. our first photos from the airfield are from the 06/08/2007 ;) On the winter season im working since two weeks.

Cute!
I don't have any other comment than that, but the forum software told me my message was too short, so I have to add a lot of extra words...

Hey Sascha,
I am a fan of yours, and coincidently, just downloaded this very airport earlier thismorning. Very impressive airport. I love how you did the plants and bushes too. The little white building is seperated nicely from the main airport with some cool foilage.
Did you do work on the Friesland scenery also?
Bill
Hey guys!
Its a while ago, i updatet this threat. Im still working on updates for EDTQ Pattonville. I created a new construction site for Pattonville. Later this year there will be a Rescue-Helicopter Base in Pattonville.

Great to hear Sascha. I love that little airfield.
I love coming in low over those little crop fields and touching down, coming to a stop just in front of that little tower building.
I added some AI traffic to mine. Yours was fine. Just wanted some more planes around.
Awesome work Sir. I am very impressed with the incredible realism of this airfield...
