North American Navion

Just having some fun testing the forthcoming freeware Navion's 'paintkit...' ;)

The North American Navion was modeled by Richard S. (richie1935). I did the FSX
'magic' for him and developed the 2048x2048 master mesh layout and paintkit, as well
as develop a funtional 2d panel in both wide-screen and normal 4:3 sizes.

The freeware version will have all default FSX gauges, with the option to purchase
an "ESDG Avionics Package" for those who wish to 'pimp their ride...'

I have created a 2048x2048 texture sheet for the exterior's interior, so it's really more about creating the 3d panel and doing the final mesh mapping to make it complete.

The "ESDG Avionics Options Package" will consist of:

1. SN4550 EADI (with fast/slow indicator for jet/turbine a/c)
2. SN3308 EHSI (as shown with moving map, autoslew, multiple pointers, Rose and Arc modes)
3. Garmin 106a VOR heads (2x)
4. GNS530
5. GNS430 (2x)
6. STec55X Autopilot
7. GMA340 Audiopanel
8. GTX330 Transponder (Vatsim/IVAO ready)
9. Mid Continent 4300 Electric Attitude Indicator (with internal 60 minute rechargable battery)

The selling price has yet to be determined, but it won't be expensive... ;)

Here are some progress shots of the North American Navion showing a bit of "gauge magic."

Rather than produce two seperate interior models, and avoid the hard drive bloat, I programmed a bit of "magic" into the Eaglesoft Avionics Expansion Pack that will trigger the model to display the correct gauges in the VC if the Expansion Pack is installed. This way everything is done automatically! 8-)

I still have to add the 3d compass, and create the lightmapping for the ESDG Avionics VC version.

The freeware package will have four liveries altogether, and a choice between normal 4:3 2d Panel or 16:9 Widescreen 2d Panel.

Less than 24 hours after release to avsim.com and flightsim.com the total downloads are a whopping 1132... :D

Who knew that folks are SO hungry for any new FSX model? :eek:
