View Full Version : ObjPlacer and Rwy12
Hi all
is there a system to import the Rwy12 library objects into Objplacer library?
To load these libraries in ObPlacer XML you need to have the XML source files of them. Usually these are not provided with the Rwy12 library.
Maybe it would be useful in a future version that I add an option to read a Rwy12 XML file as well. But at this moment that is not possible yet.
I didn't read your last mail...
another question...can I copy the data of a object in library of RWY12...like the "add_ESDG_RampLightSet" in another library to load it by ObjPlacer.XML program?
You could try to decompile the library BGL and load that XML file in ObPlacer XML. The only problem with this method is that the names of the MDL files will probably not be very clear :).
What is the decomp program?
Thanks...Now I found BGLXML and then I will give you the news...
I used bglxml..with the some of bgl files of RWY12...it all ok...I have a .MDL files...his name is GUID number...then I can import in OBjPlacer (very much easy to place the object than Objplacer of RWY12 program...) I see the object and then I change the name of file...
THanks very much :)
It is better not to use these MDL files in ObPlacer XML. If you just load the XML file created by the decompiler, you can use the origional library BGL (as the GUIDs are listed in the XML file).
If you use the MDL objects you could get trouble with the copyrights of the authors etc.
Can you explain me better last your message...???
...I must let the number GUID like of original file, to have not the troubles with the copyrights of the authors ???
In ObPlacer XML you can load the XML file of an object library. So you should load the decompiled XML file there. You do not need to use the MDL objects. By loading the XML file, ObPlacer XML will call the GUID of the origional library BGL, which you still use of course.
now I understand and I thanks very much...
I decomp the file Bgl with bglxml program then I have 2 files:
- 1 Mdl files;
- 1 XML library (ex. mylights.xml)
In the Objplacer.XML I can load the "mylights.xml" library and then I load to place the mdl file in my scenery by their GUIDs..numbers ...correct?
..in this manner I cannot change the name of files?
Yes, by loading the XML file, you can call the objects from the object library BGL (by using their GUID).
What do you mean with renaming the files? Do you mean the name of the different objects or something else?
...when I load the User Library in Objplacer.xml, in the left side I see a GUID numbers...relatives of the mdl files...can I rename the obj to understand what is the obj that I'm palcing?
To get different names there you would have to open the XML file that you decompiled and change the MDL filenames into something that makes more sense (instead of the GUID they are now).
As you will never compile this XML file, it does not matter that the MDL files do not exist.
Thanks for all...now is clear... :)
...is there a program that convert MDL into 3DS format?
Nope. You can't get a source file from an already compiled FS object (and I prefer it like that, else it is very easy for other people to steal your work :)).
