View Full Version : Yellow square
Hi Jon,
Just a (dumm)question using the present ADEv1.20.
I got this big yellow square(please see the attached image); is this an exclusionbox or something else; the tower...?
Kind regards.

Hi Bert,
The default object is described as a tower, but is probably a collection of terminal buildings.

Thanks George for your reply.
Thus i have to take this view as normal!
Because later on i loaded EHAM and had also 3 large yellow boxes which in my opinion are not that nice in the workarea and too big with no or little function.

There is an option in the Show Menu called Display Objects. Untick it and these will not be displayed. There is an explanation about these rectangles and why they are sometimes so large in the Release Notes for version 1.21. They display the footprint of autogenerated objects - these often do not fit the actual object because Microsoft placed the heading in the object. You can work with these if you need to but if not then just hide them as described above
hi Jon,
Do you mean View\Display Only Objects? Because it doesn't work.
(btw i still have v1.20)

You need 1.21 - the display objects in 1.20 are still grey I think. OK I understand the problem - this will not work because the object you have there is a tower object. Microsoft rather unhelpfully added a number of large terminal buildings under the tower element. to avoid problems we have to unpack them and turn them into regular objects. They are therefore regular objects and there is not a lot that cam be done. The fact that this is set to be displayed at very sparse means it is hard to hide in ADE. This is an issue with both the way MS designed these objects and the fact that they erroneously attached them to the Tower View.
Jon, Bert,
this big square is the tower, if you set the regional settings to comma. Changing the comma to dot will display the normal square.
if you go to stock EDKM double click the square in Tower (Beacon Tower 01) The size is 385 x 379. Change the regional settings to decimal dot, the size is 3.85 x 3.79.

Many thanks I will take a look at that but I think we should have sorted it out for 1.21

OK I can replicate the problem in 1.20 but cannot replicate it in 1.22. 1.22 should be available shortly
It's okay now Jon; problem solved.
Thanks for v1.22
Regards.
