• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

By following these guidelines we make sure that the forums remain easy to read for everybody and also that the right people can find your post to answer it.

    Adding normal textures (bump maps)

I am pretty sure this question has been posted before, but I could not find anything. I am currently working on retexturing (4096) an excellent model of the Junkers Ju-52 by Oliver Fischer. I got the model working in P3dv5 with the help of MCX. What I cannot get right / figure out is how to...

Another thing. I am using the Nvidia DDS extension in PS. Are there any specific settings I need to know of?

    PBR files help

I seems the screenshot did not display correctly. I have rectified this. I would like the bare metal to be reflective, i.e. having that specific finish more or less what one sees on the real live models. I am not looking for a mirrored effect, just a well used metal skin. I have gave the metal...

    PBR files help

Thanks for your reply. I need to know, how to prepare the paintfiles in PS to show up correctly in the sim. I am not sure, how to manipulate the various channels in .metallic to show up correctly. The talk of inverting channels, placing them in alpha and so forth. I am not sure how this whole...

Thank you very much Arno! Much appreciated. Thank you for all the effort you are putting into MCX and still keep it free to use. Not many devs do that. Big kudos to you.

    PBR files help

Hi Doug I will also need some help on the whole PBR thing. From my side it is more in the line of a/c painting. I am a bit unclear how to do this the various steps in Photoshop. I experimented with other tutorials, but did not get anywhere with this. I would really appreciate your help, if...

    PBR preview

Rick, I want to thank you for your answer. It confirmed to me that this is far more complex than envisioned. I'd then rather give it a skip for the time being. The only disadvantage is that one cannot make use of the spec maps any more. Thanks again for your help. Regards Eberhard

    PBR preview

Thanks Arno for your answer and for having this on your wish list. This PBR thing gets me down as well. Trying to figure out what to do and how to save the output files from Photoshop. Not much information regarding how to available on the net. Oh well, need to experiment.

    PBR preview

This app of yours is such a great help for my paint shop. I am not sure, whether there is a way to preview PBR paints as they would look in p3d? Can this be done? Currently I am struggling to get my mind wrapped around doing physically based rendering. I would be great to have a preview, as to...

I twiddled a bit with the options and changed ObjectModel settings > Remove Scaling to true and it solved my issue.

I checked through the hierarchy and the values I posted earlier are the big ones. When I select the node then the whole model shows up red. All the other nodes only highlight only parts of the model.

Thank you very much, for updating the app, but it did not change the situation. I will have to make use, with what I have got, but thanks for your help. I wonder, whether it has also something to do with the latest beta release. I'll keep you posted.

Thanks for your answer. I thought as much. It would be great if I could the previous build, which worked well for this aircraft. The older version I got cannot read the newer model files. Gesendet von meinem SM-P585 mit Tapatalk

is this the one? If yes, do I have to edit it and if yes, to which values? Why did this cause this error in the current version and not the previous one?

    Default zoom level

toggling it does not make any difference. I see nothing showing up or closing This is what I see in the Hierarchie editor. Is there a specific place I must look at, or which value has to be wrong?
