• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

By following these guidelines we make sure that the forums remain easy to read for everybody and also that the right people can find your post to answer it.

    Belfast City Airport - EGAC

Hello All, Thought I would just give a quick screenie on the progress of Belfast City Airport 2012 which I am working on. This scenery will be freeware. Still quite a way to go, the top layers of the runway still need to be done (skids, cracks, etc) then I will start work on the taxiways...

    FS2004 Alpha Channel in Photoshop

Thanks Thunderbolt. I eventually figured out that I could turn Photoshops own "layer masks" into the Alpha channel, making it much much easier to keep effects such as "drop shadow" without bits of white appearing the scenery :) Now my new problem is that my "UVW unwrap" for the centerline has...

    FS2004 Alpha Channel in Photoshop

Hello all, I'm currently working on my first scenery project (which is proceeding well, screenshots come soon) however I can't seem to manage to get any sort of transparency to work. What I'm trying to is have a seperate "edge" either side of the runway which has some drop shadow effects. I...

    Gmax install order

Thank you Bill, have them both setup now! I'm seeing in some tutorials though the menu item "FS Tools", however this does not appear on neither of my gmax setups, is it neccesary? Thanks! Oliver

    Gmax install order

Hi all, I'm very confused as to the order in which gmax should be installed. What I would like is to have the FS2002 SDK (yes I have the 2002 pro CD) and the FS2004 SDK side by side. I initially had the FS2004 SDK installed by I didn't have "FS Tools" in the menu so I'm guessing I did...

    FS2004 Ground Poly Bleed

Sorry to be a pain, but rather than start another topic I thought I'd ask here: I have now made 25 1024x1024px ground images in Photoshop and would like to put them onto plane in gmax. What is the best way of texturing this plane? Making lots of planes or one big one with 5x5 faces and texture...

    FS2004 Ground Poly Bleed

Disregard that, I have just fixed it by using FSTFlatten by Steve Greenwood which can be found here: http://home.earthlink.net/~smgreenwood/welcome.shtml Excellent tool, highly reccomended :)

    FS2004 Ground Poly Bleed

Thanks for the replies. @amahran yep certainly are REX clouds ;) @corkyo4 the way I used was the FS2002 ground poly technique (documented well on this site) using Arno's ModelConverterX tool (latest build). @arno thanks for the heads up, I have not flattened it, could you suggest what...

    FS2004 Ground Poly Bleed

Hi All, First of all, great job on the application Arno, it really is top notch. I've just got a small problem, I made a runway in Gmax, then used the wizzard in MCX to turn it into an FS2004 ground poly (taking the coordinates from ADE and setting the BMP file to layer 8), export went...
