One question about the leading edge flaps SimVar..

Hi,

I just downloaded the Pete Dowson's document that explains which SimConnect's variables are currently writable and which not, in the "SimVars Writable.txt" i saw that there are some SimVars called:

"LEADING EDGE FLAPS0 LEFT PERCENT"...write okay!
"LEADING EDGE FLAPS0 RIGHT PERCENT"...write okay!
"LEADING EDGE FLAPS1 LEFT PERCENT"...write okay!
"LEADING EDGE FLAPS1 RIGHT PERCENT"...write okay!

But when i open the FSX's SDK there is just:

"LEADING EDGE FLAPS LEFT PERCENT"
"LEADING EDGE FLAPS RIGHT PERCENT"

(just those two variables.....note that they dont have 0 or 1, appended to the "FLAPS" word)

i want to know if those two variables in the FSX's SDK, are correctly written or they (the FlightSim Team) did a mistake at write the correct variables?

"LEADING EDGE FLAPS LEFT PERCENT"
"LEADING EDGE FLAPS RIGHT PERCENT"

Or!!...., if they are correctly written, if i set (write) those two, they will set the same value to the corresponding variables in each of the four???:

"LEADING EDGE FLAPS0 LEFT PERCENT"...write okay!
"LEADING EDGE FLAPS0 RIGHT PERCENT"...write okay!
"LEADING EDGE FLAPS1 LEFT PERCENT"...write okay!
"LEADING EDGE FLAPS1 RIGHT PERCENT"...write okay!

Best Regards,

Manuel Ambulo

There are some redundances in the variables. It's quite common, for instance the engine variables exist in form
GENERAL ENGx VAR
with x = 1,2,3,4
and with the :number suffix ie GENERAL ENG VAR:x

GENERAL ENG3 RPM
is equivalent to GENERAL ENG RPM:3

oohh...wow, i didnt knew that...so...in others words i can use:

"LEADING EDGE FLAPS0 LEFT PERCENT"...write okay!
"LEADING EDGE FLAPS0 RIGHT PERCENT"...write okay!
"LEADING EDGE FLAPS1 LEFT PERCENT"...write okay!
"LEADING EDGE FLAPS1 RIGHT PERCENT"...write okay!

or

"LEADING EDGE FLAPS LEFT PERCENT"
"LEADING EDGE FLAPS RIGHT PERCENT"

i was asking because in the FSX SDK they dont specify that this variable uses an index number (example: PROP RPM:1 or PROP RPM1)...so when i saw Pete's document....it let me think about if the FSX SDK had a mistake or something..

Best Regards,

Manuel Ambulo
