Gmax error

hi at all.... i have this type of problem... platform Windows XP sp1- gmax 1.2 - fs2004 sdk makemdl...

so when i try to export an object into mdl file, and the object have an attached effect, i obtain this type of message:

Assertion failed!
Program c:\gmax\gamepack\fs2004\plugins\makemdl.exe file
\fs9sdk\tools\utils\source\mdlview\octTree.cpp line :386
expression: m_iLevelCnt > 0
for information on how your program can cause an assertion failure, see
Visual C++ documentation on asserts ...

some suggestion ???

Tank's in advance....

Problema

Hi Davide,

sei Italiano?

... hai qualche suggerimento?

grazie

Lucio

you use makemdl to export model to fs2004 with animation included.
to trigger the animation with a specified variable, i use mdlcommander to obtain the asm file of my model, then i use CAt to set a variable to start and stop the animation. if you dont use nothing to trim you animation, the animation will loop.
so the process is Gmax (the model animation) -> mdlcommander -> makemdl Cat -> final BGl.
I have realized my standard nato shelter for military airbase with animaton of doors starting at a specific nav2 frequency.

Cheers
Davide

Hi Davide,

Does you scene contain more than the attached objects? When exporting only the object with the effect attached to I have seen such errors.

And I have also read reports that you can get them when exporting really small scenes.

Hi Davide,

In the MS tutorial about the house attaching effects is shown as well.

If you only had this box with the effect attached, that is probably the problem. It seems you must have on normal object as well, else it will crash.
