• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

    Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

    By following these guidelines we make sure that the forums remain easy to read for everybody and also that the right people can find your post to answer it.

Autopilot = 1 not working after SU12?

Hi, I know this forum is for devs however I'm trying to make the "base" autopilot work in the VL-3 (msfs) and I just can't. I tried everything..

systems.cfg
[AUTOPILOT]
autopilot_available = 1
flight_director_available = 1
default_roll_mode = 1
default_pitch_mode =1

engines.cfg
[DISABLED_CONTROLS]
DisableAutopilotControls = 0

Tried also the WT, the buttons won’t go green. Tried the PMS750, the AP option is not available. Yes, the AP toggle is set to “Z” and I also have a hotas switch for that, it just don’t work.

I also know there is a Rotax 935 mod with a working AP, however I want to stick with the stock one… so can someone give me a hand?

Launch MSFS.
Go to marketplace
Type working title
Download and install 4 packages.

Go to content manager > check for updates.
Type Working Title - make sure that 8 packages are installed.

Type VL-3
Click VL-3 JMB Aircraft > delete

Tick a checkbox not installed
Select VL-3 > install
Press ESC > quit to desktop

Go to community folder.
Delete all mods by Working Title.

Go to
Patch_to_msfs_packages > Official > OneStore > asobo-aircraft-vl3 > SimObjects > Airplanes > Asobo_VL3
In notepad++ open file named systems.cfg
Under [AUTOPILOT] edit 2 lines
autopilot_available = 0
flight_director_available = 0
Replace 0 with 1

save changes
Launch MSFS.

Go to controls settings
Assign key or button to Autopilot ON , Toggle Autopilot Master , Toggle Flight Director , Toggle Autopilot Heading Hold , Toggle Autopilot VS HOLD , Increase Autopilot Reference VS (vertical speed), Decrease Autopilot Reference VS
Apply and save.
Go to world map and select JBM Aircraft VL-3 > fly
Prepare for takeoff > set altitude and heading > takeoff
Nose up ... press toggle flight director, press Autopilot ON or Toggle Autopilot Master , Toggle Autopilot Heading Hold , Toggle Autopilot VS HOLD , Increase Autopilot Reference VS
Works without any problems ;)
