I created an object in Sketchup and applied an external texture named light_nav. I exported, imported into ModelConverter, changed the texture named in the material list to light_nav, and exported. Used the MDLtweaker "fix bgl lights" feature and compiled the object into a library. When displayed in FS9 there is no beacon light effect. Is this just something that I'm not going to be able to do in Sketchup?
