    Hey all,

I am using Audacity. I found some unique sounds on YouTube. They sound great there, but pulling the sound from a scene through the mic, of a engine out in the open air, being carried through my room into the Mic, brings in the room echo elements. It sounds like it was recorded in a room. Is there a way to purify the sound, take out the background 'noise'?

Not at my home computer at the moment but if you do a google search you should be able to find a way of taking the sound directly from the youtube clip and converting it into a wav file. i.e. it's all done on your computer no microphones involved.
Or try the site below, gives you an mp3 but audacity should be able to convert that to a wav.

    Worked Brilliant!

This opens new doors on sound aquisitions.... My window is right against a main street. This helps massively.

    Many thanks Sir.
