• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

    Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

    By following these guidelines we make sure that the forums remain easy to read for everybody and also that the right people can find your post to answer it.

FSX Jetways doing a no-show

For some reason, I can't get my jetway's to show in FSX. I have them set to "Normal" density and FSX set to "Extremely Dense". I've run the fault finder and it shows no errors. All parking spots are properly connected with no duplicate numbers.

Help.

Did you start from a stock airport or open someone elses airport bgl?

Did you select the parking spot and right click the mouse to add the Jetway to the proper parking spot?

I am building the airport from scratch. I highlighted the parking spot, right clicked and selected "Add/Jetway"

The jetways appear in ADE as they should but not in FSX.

Building this airport from scratch did you by chance add a exclude where you are trying to place a jetway?

There is a bug in FSX that will not allow a Jetway to show if it is positioned inside the rectangle of certain excludes.

The only exclude I'm using is for autogen. I'm building atop ORBX PNW but have layered mine well above it.
 
There are different type excludes. When removing autogen a poly exclude must be used. By chance is your exclude a rectangle type such as

<ExclusionRectangle

longitudeMaximum="-81.0443291704831"
excludeAllObjects="TRUE"/>
 
So far we have ruled out the obvious. I am running out of ideas. Anyway you can attach the ad2 project file so I can take a peek.
 
No problem. I've racked my brain and was hoping that there was an "obvious" one I was missing :confused:

I've included the compiled scenery as well to see if perhaps they show on another system.

Well I see them all OK with stock FSX.

I wonder if something with ORBX

You can remove your attachments in the User CP menu at the top of the forum page if you want to.

Thanks! That's actually quite helpful. It could be ORBX and I'll disable it to see if that's it or another "phantom" exclude.
 
Sorry it took so long to follow up on this but the the jetway problem is indeed a result of the ORBX PNW installation since they showed up as soon as I deactivated it. Apparently there is an exclusion somewhere in the ORBX scenery that seems to be excluding jetways. I'll check with ORBX and see if this can be overrided.
 
There is a general problem that an exclusion designed to exclude library objects can also exclude FSX jet ways
