Is there an easy way to find out which Landclass texture follows seasons?

    Hi there,

I am currently working on a scenery in mid Brasil, using Ground2K4 for rough landscape.

I just found out that the landclass 090 texture (rain green tropical forrest) follows seasons (snow in winter...). Not very useful when working on the tropical rain forrest.

Is there an easy way to find out (other than trial error), what landclasses look like in different seasons?

    Hi there,

there's a couple of land class tables/catalogs floating around. You don't specify whether this is for FS9 or FSX but since you mention Ground2K4 I assume it's FS9!?

    For FS2002/04 there's
    http://library.avsim.net/esearch.php?CatID=fs2002sd&DLID=30478 and http://library.avsim.net/esearch.php?CatID=fs2004sd&DLID=92663 and
    http://library.avsim.net/esearch.php?CatID=fs2002misc&DLID=16741 and
    http://library.avsim.net/esearch.php?CatID=fs2004sd&DLID=47486

None of the tools above show seasonal variations though some indicate whether seasonal textures are present. However, once you know what classes you're looking for you can use Martin Wright's TView thumbview tool - http://www.mnwright.btinternet.co.uk/ - to view and compare the FS9 seasonal textures in Scenery\World\texture.

If you were thinking of FSX, I've made a spreadsheet and visual catalog available here: http://forums.simflight.com/viewtopic.php?t=57245

    Cheers, Holger
