I have ShowMissingTextureAlert=1 in the fsx.cfg and am seeing multiple missing textures such as "buildingdefault.bmp".

Can I take another bmp from the fsx\texture folder and copy/rename to that which is missing or can I create a blank texture? If so, what format should it be and should it have lods?

    Hi George,

You can do both of course.

If you copy an existing texture, you might see some weird mappings on some objects.

And if you create a blank texture, I would use a darker colour so that it does not look to weird. As you want a simple dummy texture I would keep it small (32x32 pixels or so) and just save it as DXT1 with mipmaps.

Thanks Arno, I will use air_w2.bmp and see if I can spot it.

ps. That worked fine, I no longer get the missing texture message.
