In a state of above normal confusion I confirmed Arnos's question
when in fact I don't have such

So if anybody else has such a file and would like to see the export of animated FS9 objects added to the ModelConverterX feature list, please provide Arno with it.

    Thanks you :)

    Hi,

Let me give a little more background for the request :).

Martin would like to have ModelConverterX also export animations to the FS2004 MDL format. To be able to add that I need to know how they should be defined in the X file, since it is different from FSX.

I could of course install MDLCommander to capture a X file myself, but if somebody has a FS2004 X file with animations laying around that would help a lot.

Is this a scenery object or an aircraft object?

Let's start with scenery object first, if I would try export to aircraft models there will be much more issues :D.

    Hi Arno.

This is the Aces AnimHouse scenery animation:

    AnimHouse.zip

It works in FS9 and FSX.

Glad someone could help. I couldn't get MDL Commander to read my .par file and thus save the X file...

Try having the .gmax file and the .par file in the same folder... then export to that folder.

If it doesn't work, try the option to just save the x file with no compilation.

Thanks Dick, I think with that code it should be possible to add this to ModelConverterX in the future.

OK, got it working. It was actually a problem with my Shortcut I used to start GMAX. Sorry for the trouble. X file sent.

    Thanks,

Thanks Tom. With those two X file I think it should be possible to add animation support for FS2004 scenery MDL files.
