• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

By following these guidelines we make sure that the forums remain easy to read for everybody and also that the right people can find your post to answer it.

The textures should look a bit more used. Works on just this model certainly a lot more real ;).

Thought the same first: Maybe I should add a bit dirt to the textures, some scratches, ... then I went to Bremerhaven. The Polar 5 nor looks used nor dirty, I could not believe it! Only the area behind the exhaust is dirty, the rest of the airplane is like a giant mirror, shiny and clinically clean.

You can compare it to real pictures (huge size!)

How can an old airplane look that good!?!? Seems like she never flew anywhere before!

OK, that's understandable.

One more thing to remember when making a/c paints is that its very easy to make the colors too 'hard' and thus give it an un-natural look in the sim... Add a little gray into the hard colors to 'dull' em out, just ever-so-slightly... through specularity and such, in the texture definitions, you can give them a richness and glossyness, but too hard colors almost look 'out of place'

its the one mistake that painters (and i have made the mistake, plenty of times, myself) make, is trying to make the colors, 'too' colorful...

dull em, just so slightly... not too hard, or it looks out of place, too new, and not like an actual object... with sides, shine, and reflection...

the work on the alpha is really hard :)
Now with changed alphas and custom spec maps, looking quite good in my opinion!

Edgeneer give a good advice, I don't understand too much about repaint, I would like, but yes, the colors, dull them as was said, keep the glossines and such, good work anyway

Requesting something like this.. a fresh conversion. This will become a Canadian registered aircraft. Returning to OSH after training in CYOW.
N36AP is the same number that was on the pre-conversion flying for MVA (Miami Valley Aviation)back in the day hauling freight. Is there still going to be a FS9 version also?
