• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

    Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

    By following these guidelines we make sure that the forums remain easy to read for everybody and also that the right people can find your post to answer it.

P3D v4 Help newbie with ADE

Hello, so I am new to using ADE and in the process of trying to expand an existing airport in P3Dv4 so that I can land larger aircraft there and use it as a base of operations. Since this is my first project I am not trying to do anything too fancy but just want to add a longer runway to the airport and make a simple taxiway to the apron and have a few buildings. So far I have been able to add the new runway but that's pretty much it. The part I am having trouble with is how to create taxiways and aprons. I think I was able to figure out how to place a taxiway using the add taxi link button but not sure if I am doing it correctly. Also, I see the button to add an apron but I can't figure out how to create a rectangular apron with it. When I try to create one I can only create triangular shapes so the apron comes out looking weird . So are there any good tutorials on how to make taxiways and aprons for your airport? I tried searching online and checking the manual but was still confused about how to do it. Also, does ADE have to ability to add higher resolution textures to your ground textures or do I need another program to do that?

yes, you make taxiways from taxi links. For aprons you add points by left clicking, for the last one double click to complete the shape. Have you downloaded and read the manual? It is for an earlier version but based on the questions you are asking it will tell you what you need to know.
