I see so many people jumped so fast at this one....:D
Easy to guess, not many people have attempted this simulation.
I found a way to make ice on wings to appear and disappear, tricking it with a tigger action in 3ds max, using the Spoiler trigger.
In3 3ds max, I duplicated just...
FOUND IT.....SO SIMPLE!!
No need to go into3ds max at all. In the aircraft.cfg I just had to adjust the xy coordinates of the engine, play with the bold text below,
engine_type = 0
Engine.0 = 10, 0,5
ThrustAnglesPitchHeading.0 = 0,0
I am so grateful to all of you, because you guide my thinking in these incredibly challenging applications.
I actually had my own propdisks that I gaussan blurred into a very nice Alpha texture....saved as .dds dxt 5 directly from Photoshop. It seemed to work fine at first then I noticed those...
TEXTURE TEXTURE TEXTURE!!!! :o
I am still learning about textures.....it was my texture which caused these artifacts!!!
Here is the link...where I downloaded these provided prop disk maps....saved out to dxt 3 and I am back and running smooth...
It is very strange, if I start up or shut down engine immediately in sequence, the black disk flash does not happen.
If I rest for more than 5 seconds at still, then start.....the black flash happens. Same with shut down, I allow the engine to run more than 5 seconds, then shut down...
Tom, thank you so much for your quick response, the texture is small only 128 x 128.
color is exact same. I tried separating the 2 prop disks slightly so they dont compete for same place. the black flash still appears. :confused:
Thank you so much for your advise!! Yes, I see when I bring the DDS into Photoshop and turn on the Alpha...it is very clear what I need to do.
The export in Photoshop, I was exporting correctly, dxt3 explicit alpha
In 3ds max, I was using standard material, it should have been FlightSimX...
