• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

    Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

    By following these guidelines we make sure that the forums remain easy to read for everybody and also that the right people can find your post to answer it.

    The flickering was mostly at night. I worked out it was the base airport material showing through. Nothing on the GPoly side helped it. I had to untick draw surface and draw detail on all of the asphalt and taxiways, and make the runway transparent. Unfortunately, sometimes these little critters...

    I set the z-bias to -16, -8, -4, earth curve correction and placed at 0.03 yet I get a bad flickering at distance. I have not had this issue before. I think perhaps it's because the airport is at 1207m? Does the earth curve correction brake down at higher altitudes?

    Ok sure, if you need help making your photoscenery blend in or anything I'd be glad to help. I extract the land classes next to the airport and color match the orthoimagery to them.

    I have just noticed that my ground poly is flickering also. I noticed in another thread it was after P3D crashed, I only noticed it after the same thing. So you're saying set the z layers, then just place as a model 2cm above ground level? I'll see if that works! This is p3dv5 btw.

    I can place objects using the simdirector. However they do not appear if not in that save file. I can't export it and drag the exported file onto BGL comp like a tutorial showed online.     FSX:SE FSX:SE Ground Shadows on Ground Polygons

    Native FSX and old FSX SE used to require ground shadows being turned off on buildings and SODE jetways due to flickering. I don't see that on FSX SE any more? Did they fix it? My building shadows appear fine it seems now.

    P3D v5 Dynamic light issue...

    It seems I had the falloff/exponent too low. It was 1, which worked nicely before. I've changed it to about 2.3. The black pixels are still there, but it's less noticeable as it's a lot darker at the edges.

    Since updating to v5.1 I have the dynamic lights having very dark pixellated edges. It's unsightly, doesn't seem to be dependent on any in-sim graphic settings. When moving the large black squares move all about the edges and look horrific.

    As title states, using the FX Tool crashes the sim once used, I've updated the client only in the update to v5.2. I have just updated the SDK also, didn't help. Anyone else experiencing this?

    Very nice. The roof is very shiny though, the smoothness in PBR should be much darker than a specular texture would be in greyscale.

    465.89 is the one I had to manually roll back to. The one after this is the problem.

    I installed driver 465.89 the other day, now P3D v5 crashes every time it tries to preview an aircraft on the main menu. I have removed all add-ons and start up files to no avail. Anyone else had this issue?
