• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

    Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

It would seem to me that the SDK installer finds the location and version of 3ds Max in the registry regardless of where it was installed.     Are the white lines geometry or part of the texture? It looks to me that you have a UV mapping problem vs the geometry because I can see bleed on the edges.

    I agree with Tom but darn, Microsoft needs to get off the pot and update the SDK. Learning how to model for FSX was relatively easy because the SDK was complete upon release of the sim. I'm feeling a little short changed.

    Load the MDL file into MCX and you will be able to extract the modeldef.xml code. Any custom animation will be marked as such.

    Looks like three monitors to me. I use two wide screen angled to each other slightly and a third for various sundries. I would use the third as displayed in the image but it is not of a uniform size.

    Look at the DA62 sample aircraft found in the SDK or downloadable from within MSFS 2020. The entire package and source files are there. If you are using Max the geometry with animations and textures as well as the layer system can be examined. All xml files are included.

    We are never going to eliminate pirating but you do need to protect your product name and reputation. If MCX becomes the go to tool for pirating that would cast a shadow over your work. Protect that reputation as best you can.
