• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

By following these guidelines we make sure that the forums remain easy to read for everybody and also that the right people can find your post to answer it.

MSFS Editing Parking Spots in Default Airport

How come nobody suggested creating a "project from stock airport" and entering egnx?

Hi, ADE 21 HF5 is crashing with the following error screens when I try to create a project from stock airport 70B - Millinocket in Maine. Is there anything I can do to fix this? Thanks, Tom

MSFS The Parking stand radii: "they are not what they seem"

So, I think I saw your other post, as I seem to remember discussion around these concepts. I just posted this question on the FS SDK Forum. I was trying to summarize what I remembered of your questions (I read this a while ago). I only develop GA airports, and was hoping to have some...

Different airport services on different parking types

Where did you find documentation regarding the <LivingWorld.ParkingEntry> element? I don't see that in any documentation or the examples. What's it's purpose? All the documentation just shows the <ParkingType> element by itself.

Different airport services on different parking types

And it must be in the root directory of the package in AirportServices\<icao>\Services.xml LivingWorldCfg is in the root directory as well in LivingWorld_Config\<icao>_LWcfg.xml Spelling must be exact. It took me forever to realize I was missing the underscore in LivingWorld_Config

    Help with services.xml

The location of the file is also important, as well as the names of the directories it is in. What is the path to the file in your package? But yes, do the frequency = 0, too.

    Help with services.xml

I'm sorry, I don't understand the question. Did you try it and it's not working? Why are you asking if you can do this?

    Help with services.xml

I'm sorry, I don't understand what you did based on what you said. Did you create a new Services.xml? Did you create a Living world config file? If you did, if you want help, you should post the relevant content of those files, which would be necessary to change the services available at a...

    MSFS Alpha 19 Released

So, I haven't heard you say, "After saving my scenery (button on the editor window), building my package (select the project name and hit the "Build Package" button on the inspector window), and then moving my package to my Community folder and restarting flight simulator, I don't see my beacon...

    MSFS Alpha 19 Released

Sorry, I have no idea. All the beacon objects I've added work. You've actually turned on the beacon? Just adding the object isn't enough, you have to also check the beacon box in the object properties. I don't know if Jon has added to that to ADE yet. I do all my editing in the default...

    Help with services.xml

the pb? If you want it to act as a service, you have to have the service available. If you just want to have a fixed ramp staircase, you could create a small addon which places a ramp object in a location. You don't have to create a whole airport to do that.

    MSFS Alpha 19 Released

Does it start working as you get closer to it? There are distance viewing issues in MSFS, and sometimes it affects beacons. And are you sure you placed your built airport in the Community directory, quit FS, and restarted it?

    MSFS Alpha 19 Released

Yes, as far as blocking, what you show in the first pic is the dialog I was talking about. There is no "Region" or "Country" field in the initial dialog. I wasn't aware of a "Region ID". The Region field I'm talking about from the Airport record is (edit: I thought. I'm wrong, tho) from the...

    MSFS Alpha 19 Released

Are you not filling in the Region and Country in the Airport Properties on purpose (not able to access that information maybe)? Currently, the Region field is not editable in the Airport Properties field... again... On purpose? I can add that info in the scenery editor in game, or edit the xml...

    MSFS Alpha 19 Released

I don't know about ADE, but, in the Scenery Editor, at the bottom of the Properties page, is an option to turn on the beacon effect which you have to do explicitly. It's off by default. Here is an example of a beacon with the effect turned off and one with it on. The one with it on, I...

    MSFS Parking Type

The one thing I don't like is, they gave us the ability to segregate parking spots by type, is small, medium, large, dock, extra, but, every time you read in an airport.xml definition, they change it's type based on it's size, so you lose the ability to apply services based on type, unless you...

    MSFS Parking Type

To get the T-Marking to turn on, you have to turn on Centerline of the Taxiway path to the Parking point. There are some other options as well, like making it a double T, or adding more crossing lines or adding label and positioning it with the biasX and BiasZ options.
