• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

By following these guidelines we make sure that the forums remain easy to read for everybody and also that the right people can find your post to answer it.

[SOLVED] Blender2FSX Help: How to Manually Link/Find FSX SDK Path? (Using FSX:SE)

Hey nice model! I haven't done that in FSX aircraft model making, so I can't help you at the moment.

How Do I Make a Shiny Chrome Texture with Paint.NET for FSX?

I'm just about finished with a re-paint I made for the LHC Piper Pacer 180, and I'd like to add chrome to the prop spinner and the prop blades, but I'm not exactly sure how to do that with Paint.NET and make it work in FSX. Any help?

[SOLVED] Blender2FSX Help: How to Manually Link/Find FSX SDK Path? (Using FSX:SE)

Hey guys thanks a lot for helping me solve my Blender issues! From the initialize toolset/SDK directory issue to my animations list not showing up, which shows up now, after I just updated Blender to the latest version. :)

[SOLVED] Blender2FSX Help: How to Manually Link/Find FSX SDK Path? (Using FSX:SE)

FSX:SE didn't come with a ModelDef.xml. Running Blender as administrator didn't work either.

[SOLVED] Blender2FSX Help: How to Manually Link/Find FSX SDK Path? (Using FSX:SE)

I'm not sure. Ronh made some edits so Blender2FSX can recognize the P3D SDK in the FSX:SE location (since I'm on FSX:SE). I can try switching the current ModelDef.xml with the old one.

[SOLVED] Blender2FSX Help: How to Manually Link/Find FSX SDK Path? (Using FSX:SE)

I tried initializing the toolset with the default cube; list didn't show up. I manually located the ModelDef.xml on both my Greenhorn project and the default cube; still didn't work. I'm thinking ModelDef.xml might be corrupt or something as Pyscen suggested.

[SOLVED] Blender2FSX Help: How to Manually Link/Find FSX SDK Path? (Using FSX:SE)

Hey ronh do you know what could be causing the animation assign list (under Animation Tools tab) to not show up at all? I'm not sure why but the list isn't visible.

[SOLVED] Blender2FSX Help: How to Manually Link/Find FSX SDK Path? (Using FSX:SE)

Thanks ronh for that patch! I don't get anymore errors when I initialize the toolset. Although I still have one last question: How do I get the FSX animations assign tool/list to show? I noticed there is a list of FSX animations to assign your Blender model animations to in KP's tutorial videos...

[SOLVED] Blender2FSX Help: How to Manually Link/Find FSX SDK Path? (Using FSX:SE)

Wait, what if I copy the SDK to the location where it's trying to find it in? The traceback errors it's giving me shows it's trying to find the SDK in Microsoft\Microsoft Games\Flight Simulator X SDK. Maybe if I put an SDK in that location, it'll automatically recognize it? EDIT: Nvm that...

[SOLVED] Blender2FSX Help: How to Manually Link/Find FSX SDK Path? (Using FSX:SE)

Can you at least tell me what SDK file the SDK directory is looking for (like xml or exe)? Or does it just look at the entire SDK folder structure, instead of a specific file like modeldef.xml for the ModelDef directory? How difficult is it for you to rewrite the script so it looks into the...

[SOLVED] Blender2FSX Help: How to Manually Link/Find FSX SDK Path? (Using FSX:SE)

P3D V1.4 SDK is installed & replaced the SDK in the FSX:SE SDK folder; ADE recognizes it, Blender2FSX recognizes modeldef.xml by manually linking the path, and it will do the same when I link it the correct file for the SDK path, and it should be working. I just need to know what file to link...

[SOLVED] Blender2FSX Help: How to Manually Link/Find FSX SDK Path? (Using FSX:SE)

Nope, ADE is point to C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\FSX\SDK\Environment Kit\BGL Compiler SDK. I'm able to link Blender2FSX to the modeldef.xml file, but I don't know what file I'm supposed to link for the SDK. Like is it an xml or exe file? I'm literally just missing the SDK...

[SOLVED] Blender2FSX Help: How to Manually Link/Find FSX SDK Path? (Using FSX:SE)

Alright, the P3D V1.4 SDK is installed (and my ADE still compiles with it; last time I installed the V1.4 SDK, ADE wouldn't compile so I deleted it and replaced it with the old FSX:SE SDK). I was able to link Blender2FSX with the modeldef.xml, but I'm not sure which file I'm supposed to link the...

[SOLVED] Blender2FSX Help: How to Manually Link/Find FSX SDK Path? (Using FSX:SE)

Weird. When I started making airports with ADE, I remember I had to install an SDK since FSX:SE didn't have a complete one, that or I installed something SDK-related like a compiler to get ADE to compile my airports correctly, but not an entire SDK exactly. Idk it was about 3-4 years back when I...

[SOLVED] Blender2FSX Help: How to Manually Link/Find FSX SDK Path? (Using FSX:SE)

I'm trying my hand at FSX aircraft making, and before I tackle a Sonex Onex (my ultimate goal), I'm starting off with a fictional design (named "Greenhorn") that I originally made in SimplePlanes, and then exported it as an .obj file, and imported it into Blender, and removed all the material on...

New to the forum, My family owns an airport and I heard you could find someone here to help with scenery

I'm pretty handy at creating FSX scenery, although your on P3D V4 and I'm on FSX:SE, so I don't know if the terrain mesh might be different.

Currently giving all of Whatcom County in WA state a huge make-over. About 80% done. Will either have it as an entire "county package" for users to download all those airports in one package, or just have users download each airport individually. I'm also getting into freeware aircraft making...

Looking At Making My First FSX Aircraft Addon

Hello, I'm looking at creating my first aircraft addon for FSX. It'll be freeware and I'm contemplating between the Aerolite 103 ultralight and the Sonex Onex kit-plane, since those are simple airplanes and no one has made either one of them for FSX before. I would like to use Blender since I...

    Some questions about FSX formation

The closest I've ever gotten to doing formation flying in FSX all by myself is through FSrecorder. If you have FSX:SE you can only use 1.3 version as the later versions are broken in FSX:SE, but if you have regular boxed FSX you can use the higher up and better versions like 2.1 or 2.18a...
