• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

By following these guidelines we make sure that the forums remain easy to read for everybody and also that the right people can find your post to answer it.

GMax Animation following a path wont play

The presence of a bounding box would not effect the animation of an object to work or not. Just to make sure, did you use keyframes in gmax to animte the object as simply naming it Tick18_main will not animate the object. If you want, you can send the gmax file to me..jen_n_dave1123@yahoo.com or...

    Limitations to unattached effects?

As far as i know, if they are appearing at random...then you shouldn't have an issue at all. The only time you will get a framerate drop is having many effects at once in your scene or a very huge effect. Dave

White flash in an animated texture

Hey Guys, I just came across this thread and got me interested in trying something yet im a bit confused. Do you have to make multiple objects, apply different textures or is it just one object and applying multiple texters. Im sorry if i seem dense on this but im not completely satisfied...

    A cry for Help

Just to understand this right, you used a bgl light to create the light on the ground and using an effect for the bulb part of the light. If this is the case, make sure you dont have an exclude in your scene...otherwise the effect wont work. Dave

    Animation Problem

Hey Al Im assuming your using Gmax so if you click the hierachy tab, you will se a roll-out and on the bottom you will see reset scale. Highlight your scene and click this and should get rid of the error. You might have to click on it several times to work. Dave

    Creating A 'Sound Trigger'

The only way to use an effect for this is to also create a controller along with it (type 3 for distance). This is only if its YOUR plane that comes within the set proximity to make the sound work and not AI aircraft. Otherwise, your going to do what Thorsten has stated..if that is possible...

    wind ground heading

did you use the right min max variables...meaning in hex or dec form? Also for tweaked objects to react to wind direction, you need to objects in your scene that rotate to wind...the second could be placed in a hanger or somewhere not visible. Dave

    Photoreal Fire Effect tester!!

Hey Nath, Here is a way to attach sound to your truck. I created an effect and controller with a sound param which is in the zip folder. Attach the controller(not the effect) to your object using gmax attachscript. The effect just contains the sound params and the controller is used for...

    Question re new effect

Hey Arch, To be honest, the delay is set to 60.0...not 60.00. Im not really sure if that really makes a difference or not. Also, set at 60 might not always give you a 60 second delay, meaning perhaps your in an area with not so good frame rates, your 60 seconds might not be the same as the...
