• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

    Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

    Found a way to remove stubborn autogen objects.

    I was playing around with my scenery I'm working on, and wanted to remove a few autogen objects, trees, and buildings. I found if I put a library object on the spot where the autogen is, it dissapears. I used the Generic Library, #69.

    What I had to do when rebuilding an airport from scratch, was to add the taxi letters to a list of taxiway designators. Then, I looked up the airport diagram for the taxiway designations.

    Wigwags becoming out of sync

    I I've made a bunch of wigwags, using a model object with attached effects. Upon startup, they all flash in sync. But if I let the sim run, they go out of sync. Is it because I leave the airport area? Set sim rate of 8x or more? How to keep them in sync, looking to do.

    FS2004 Taxiway Signs dissapear from certain angles, ADE (updated), FS2004

    I don't know what I did to fix the taxiway signs, but for about 130 GP lines, there was one bad one on the east part of the airport, making a group of lines appear and disappear. I deleted one by one till I got to the bad one and deleted it. Problem solved.

    This is a weird one. Updating KBTV, Burlington VT, and have about 130 taxiway signs. If I slew to a group of them,and get to about 1500 ft of them, they will dissapear from 127-128 degrees, and appear any other direction. Some are "doubles", back to back signs, to show a back side letter, etc...

    Maximum number of Attatched Effects in FS2004

    Is there a maximum number of attached effects that will show in a FS2004 airport scenery? I am adding effects as headlights / tail-lights to cars, and adding the cars as models to the scenery. I reach a limit of 16 cars, or 64 effects before any additional cars show up without head / tail lights.

    Strange. Re-loaded the airport, re-compiled. No problems. Must have changed an option during compiling.

    Update...I started removing some of my ground polys, and re-compiled, no problems. Somewhere in the large circle was a poly causing my issue. Now I just have to re-load the airport, and remove each poly one by one, and run fs2004 to see which one of them was causing me problems.

    I am working on an airport, and have several custom ground polys with lines for edges. As I look them over, they disappear when viewing them from certain angles. I had 2 of them that could not be triangulated, but fixed those. Any ideas? Could some of the sharp angles in the poly cause the sim...

    FS2004 Ah Ha! Exclude Rectangles hide effects!

    I was wondering why 3 of my 300+ taxiway lights did not light up, maybe they were not "wired" up correctly? lol. Nope, there was an exclusion rectangle just hanging over them. Moved the exclude, and they came back on.

    Problem solved. Imported a 3D model of the object, added 5 effects, duplicated them, and set the originals to Day/Night, the duplicates to Dusk/Dawn. Works.

    Yes, FS2004, as soon as it is launched. 4 of the error messages, same message, then FS starts up normally, scenery displays normally.
