• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

By following these guidelines we make sure that the forums remain easy to read for everybody and also that the right people can find your post to answer it.

    Creating paintkit using MCX

OP said "a specific aircraft that I've been trying to paint for years". Is there anything in this repaint tutorial on Tom Gibson's website that might help?

FSX What software can output an Mdl file ?

Have you put the textures for the bgl in the correct folder? Did you set the location for the bgl using the Object placement tool of MCX before compiling it?

    Blender2P3D/FSX with P3D v6 SDK support

Note: You need at least Blender version 3.3.x for this version of the toolset. It is here in the resources section. As noted on that resources page, the SDK support is all that has been added, plus some cosmetic changes to the UI.

    Blender2P3D/FSX for Blender 3.3 thru 3.6 1.0.20

This is version 1.0.20 of the toolset. It is a minor bug fix for the P3Dv6 SDK. As mentioned in the title, it requires at least Blender 3.3. The P3Dv6 SDK is the only new item. There are some cosmetic changes to the UI. If new to using the toolset, see the wiki...

MCX Development releases in August throw error with bgl file

Hi Arno, This is the error I get after importing a bgl file and clicking on the Object placement icon: This version of MCX does not throw the error: Since they are small, here are two bgl files I was using for a test in a zip:

    P3D v5 Prepar3d VC gauge transparency issue

My last idea: Have you tried an Internet search for this problem? Maybe even something as basic as: amd radeon prepar3d. Or amd radeon prepar3d virtual cockpit transparency problem. Good luck!

    P3D v5 Prepar3d VC gauge transparency issue

Another idea, although I'm not confident that you would find anything is: Have you looked on the Lockheed Martin Prepar3d forum? Maybe there are others who have had a similar issue and with luck someone found a solution.

    Newbie question regarding Blender 3.6.0

Ninja'd by Doug! Rhys, What you need to do there is open the Shading window, click on material to add a material: You will have this: On the Material tab (1), you might have to scroll down to see the P3D/FSX Material Params dropdown (2). When you open that, select Specular Material (3)...

    Newbie question regarding Blender 3.6.0

Rhys, I'll let Doug do the heavy lifting 😁, but as far as exporting both of your files to .mdl, they export OK in Blender 3.6. Here they are in MCX: Tree: Pipe:

    Newbie question regarding Blender 3.6.0

Rhys, I'm not sure about this, but if you're still getting the permission error that is at the bottom of the image you posted above, I suggest that you install the SDK in another folder. I don't have FSXse, but this is what I've got on my computer. Neither FSX nor it's SDK are in the Program...

    Newbie question regarding Blender 3.6.0

FWIW: Since you are new to Blender, I suggest rather than starting in on something you want to make, just do some things with the default cube. Like maybe changing the shape of it, or make a very simple house shape from it. Then try UV unwrapping it and texturing it. Try to export it. You can...

    Newbie question regarding Blender 3.6.0

Hi Rhys, I'm afraid I don't understand what you mean. You're not trying to install this in the Program Files Blender Foundation, etc., etc., addons folder, are you? Blender wants to put third party addons that are not part of the Blender installation files in the folder mentioned in reply #5...

    Newbie question regarding Blender 3.6.0

Edit: Are you installing the zip file? That is the easiest way. Do not extract the toolset from the zip file. You mentioned that you are a noob, maybe this page from the Blender manual about addons will help. When you click install (1) to install the zip file, do you not eventually have this...

    Newbie question regarding Blender 3.6.0

Rhys, If you have downloaded version 1.03 of the toolset from the Resources forum that is the latest version of it. It is for all Blender 3.x versions. I suggest that you have a look at the wiki for the toolset. You should see this under File->Export in Blender:
