The is the XML method of changing the value in a variable - in this case it is overwriting whatever value was in L:HYD_PUMP_IS_ON with the value of 1. It is used later on in the script you showed above. Sometimes you can see it written as: 1 (>L:HYD_PUMP_IS_ON,number), so your second attempt...
Even more confusing...
Another Windows update. Now some of my gauges are allowed to be updated with the Reload while others are not.
Sometimes I have to get out and go back in - other times I can update.
Interesting note, DragonflightDesign!
I installed KB4457128 on 14th September. Due to my disk crash I have not been in a situation to carry out edits recently. Perhaps the problem has existed quietly since then and I am only copping on to it now.
I hope someone comes up with a solution, and...
yes, I rebooted the PC a few times yesterday and it was off overnight. Same situation today.
The files save perfectly when FS2004 is not running, so currently I am back to pre 2013 procedures - run FS2004, see what must be done, close FS2004, carry out whatever work has to be done...
since March 2013 I have been happily and successfully using this RELOAD_PANELS facility. Today however - it stopped working! I use Textpad to edit my gauges and this has worked since 2013. Wordpad won't save a changed gauge .xml file while FS2004 is open either - so it looks like it is the...
it caught me napping too. The first was an old-ish 500Gb Seagate Barracuda HDD which I was using externally with a USB cable. Because of its age and the way it was carried from room to room and attached at odd intervals, I forgave it! The second was my only HDD in the computer - a...
I don't think it is the software in question, it looks way too involved! However, I will download it and try it out when I set up my new 'Extras' disk - it arrived today, and I acquired a new backup external disk as well. At the moment I don't actually have any awful lot to...
A few weeks ago my external backup disk gave up the ghost. No sweat! I began looking for another. This weekend, before I could acquire a new backup disk, my 'Extras' disk failed miserably and won't allow me to recover the files from it. All my documents gone, my photos, my music and worst of...
I gave up on trying to interpret it and coded the gauge longhand! It just took a bit longer :-)
It was a replacement for the tachometer gauge in the Cessna 182 - my simplistic version of an EDM 830 ( on the face of it anyway!).
I am attempting to construct a gauge which would use something like this EICAS gauge.
Can anyone explain what the first line actually means?
I reckon it is assigning a value of 2,1 or 0 depending on the rate of Fuel Flow and then displaying a suitable bmp depending on that value. The...
In my XML innocence I would have had a counter incrementing from 0 to say 29 and then resetting.
The first light would be visible and flashing when the counter is between 0 and 10.
The second light would be visible and flashing when the counter is between 15 and 25.
Then I would scale the...
I fly in FS2004.
I have the following gauge in my MAIN PANEL of each of my own aircraft.
gaugexx=DSD_FSX_XML_Sound!Sound, 1,1,1,1, ./Sound/dsd/Sound.ini
I have all my current 160 sound files in the FS2004\Sound\dsd folder.
Here is a selection:
Before Start Checklist.wav
Roy, Weston is now an airport with a stream (admittedly a small stream) of business jets making use of its 3000' asphalt runway and facilities. Loads of learning going on there too - busy spot for touch-and-go's. It is also used as a hub for aircraft participating in airshows around the region...
Thanks for the responses.
In my little C172 I have Pitot Heat, which I presume works ( 0 (>K:PITOT_HEAT_TOGGLE) ), and an imaginary Panel Heater, which I know doesn't work :-)
I didn't seem to have any other options.
I fly a slightly modified C172 in FS2004, usually very short trips around Ireland at 2000 - 2500', VFR and no flight plan.
Recently, to have a trial of IFR in the flight planner within FS2004 (for a couple of years when I flew a 737 I used FS Commander), I set about organizing a flight...
thanks for the advice.
I have the setting Render to Texture already set. Unset it and the sim crashed :-(
I played about with most of the other settings in Settings/Display/Hardware but to no avail.
I changed the compatibility of fs9.exe to XP Service Pack3, then Win 7 and then Win 8...
I have always used full-screen, so I just tried windowed there now.
No jumps, flashes, faint images or anything.
Everything works the way it used to in full-screen.
Please tell me now that you have an instant solution to my problem :), that doesn't involve me using windowed...
