• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

By following these guidelines we make sure that the forums remain easy to read for everybody and also that the right people can find your post to answer it.

SDK Please, problem with pushback for AI aircrafts

I don't know about MSFS, but in FSX you can't eliminate the pushback altogether. The best you can do is place a taxi node as close as possible to the centre of the parking spot. The distance between the centre of the parking spot and the nearest taxi node determines how far the a/c pushes back.

    Limited Support for AIFP

Just picked up this very sad news from another post. Don will indeed be sadly missed. Without his wonderful AIFP the FS skies would be very empty.

    AI Parking Problem

I know what you mean. I've never been able to make it work either ! But clearly there are those that have.

    Fuel truck behaving bad

Not that I know of. But if you turn the fuel truck parking spots through 180 degrees it doesn't look so odd. They then park face in, reverse out and drive away.

MSFS20 engine turns itself off ( solved )

Afraid I'm no expert on the FSX fuel system - just sharing a possible workround that worked for me. But there are many smarter folks on here than me. I'm sure one of them will be able to help you.

MSFS20 engine turns itself off ( solved )

I have one a/c model that does exactly that unless Unlimited Fuel is checked in Settings. I don't thinks that's the solution, but it might help you get on with your testing.

    Fuel truck behaving bad

Fuel truck are oblivious of objects like parked a/c, and will happily drive right through them unless directed otherwise. By default, they follow taxiway paths, but if you want them to follow a specific route you need to give them dedicated Vehicle Paths from the parking spot to the a/c parking...

P3D v4 2 Planes at the same time?

Probably not quite what you are looking for, but there is (or used to be) a tool called FormationSetup which would allow you to set up a formation which would take off and fly together. You could then go and join it.

    Brilliant - thanks Arno !

    P3D v4 parking plumbing

I think it can be done using the 'drive-through' method if you have a large area like an apron to work with. I work with WW2 airfields where the dispersal pans or hardstandings are very small, with only one way in and out. Haven't found a solution for them yet. I've got it to where I can...

    P3D v4 parking plumbing

They spawn in the correct direction in FSX., so that sounds the same. Are you sure they turn round on arrival in P3D ?

    P3D v4 parking plumbing

Is this something that changed with P3D or P3DV4 ? In FSX I have my parking spots set up this way, and while they spawn facing the correct direction, when they return to their parking spots they don't turn around until they depart.

    MCX Hierarchy Editor, material change

I didn't know that - thanks. I will go check that out.

    MCX Hierarchy Editor, material change

True. Though the process seems unnecessarily complex for what I needed to achieve. And in my case I don't have a 3D modelling tool which will import the isolated/exported part (I'm still using FSDS for model creation) Plus I've had one or two issues merging parts back into models. Just being...

    MCX Hierarchy Editor, material change

+1 I ran into this problem recently where I was converting a FS9 a/c to FSX. The original author had used the same material for many parts in the VC cockpit, and I wanted to change just some of them.

MSFS20 Animation dependent on distance from user aircraft?

Have you looked at SODE ? I believe that can do things like open hangar doors when you get near. https://www.simflight.com/2015/07/28/fsx-scenery-designer-sode-it/

    effect orientation

I did begin to see a bit of a pattern eventually. Some values seem to work on a value of 90 (0 gets changed to 90, 10 gets changed to 80), others on 180 (1 gets changed to -179). What I couldn't figure was why e.g. changing the first value to 10 (which gets changed to 80 as above) also changes...
