• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

By following these guidelines we make sure that the forums remain easy to read for everybody and also that the right people can find your post to answer it.

3DS Max [TIP] Fast topology in 3ds Max

Hi Aaron, I like the beginning of your example, but it should be better to model in high and lowpoly layers. The highpoly mesh is baking all normal details and this is enough for 4k textures. Thousands of extra vertices for this switch guard is not necessary in my opinion. Clean topology and...

    MSFS20 MV-22B Osprey Release 3.0

As Kalong said MSFS didn´t appear to use thier mentioned new innovations of ,,realistic flight dynamics. Thats a reason for long development cirlce. If you can´t take it fake it^^ (external FDES)

    P3D v4 Drawing textures

Hi gayanll, I use Photoshop CS6, Substance Painter, Quixel Suite. I would consider that you first learn the techniques with bakking,ao,layering. I suggest to start with a wood case or something similar. Try to understand the materials the lightning the shadows, the different maps there are many...

    P3D v4 PBR Materials Issue

PBR shaders in 3dsmax are a mess, for good results I would use Quixel Mixer or Substance Painter. Best regards DHS lead artist

I´ve tested the files and these are my results. My PBR rotorhead is blurred due project status. Dynamic Reflections set to Medium shadow quality is also medium.

P3D v4 Jagged shadows on PBR ground poly

The current PBR implementation have many deficits. There are Problem with night renderings, with the shader model of the smoothness values in the PBR shader itself (Roughness Map) in combination with the dynamic reflections. The current display for dynamic reflections from the angle of the...

    P3D v4 Reflection Map question

Hi Rob, thank you for this statement. I have discovered that the angle of your camera view is the main factor for setting values of the realtime dynamic reflection with PBR materials. You can test it yourself with the F16 PBR modell and different cloud condititions. Its a fact that the sun...
