• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

By following these guidelines we make sure that the forums remain easy to read for everybody and also that the right people can find your post to answer it.

    Bug report for version 21

It seems that the compilation is done by default with the description FSX name (but you can change the name from FSXPlanner). Because of this, since I have been working with SVBC, that default name is: Gen. Jose Antonio Anzoategui I SVBC The dot after "Gen" produce some effect that will...

FSX Planner Release 21 now available (July 22)

Actually the XML you have posted here seems to be faulty. It can't be opened by Explorer or XML Notepad. So, I replaced this file with the originally distributed one in FSXPlanner.zip and now opens. See that I haven't tried yet any connection with FSX. I am still confused with the three...

    Background images

I place the images in the FSXPlanner folder. I did not move it later. Actually I can open an XML with the IExplorer. I tried also to open it with the Microsoft XML notepad. It appears as corrupt. What I have not tried is deleting the bad XML to see if XLSPlanner creates a new one...

    Background images

Russell, As of the runways and airport I don't have a clue of where did Microsoft get the airport data. I am "young" on all this about afcad's, but the only airports I have checked are far from accurate, related with position, runway headings and lengths. Going further on this, I think...

    Background images

So I believe this is it. It seems by Jim's post we should not mess with runways headings and airport position change. However let me tell you about my only experience with images: I tried to set SVBC which is a medium commercial/GA airport with a small amount of traffic. The...

    FSX Planner How-To Guides

Jim, My intention was not correcting what you were saying. I was only trying to emphasize the need of a "node connection" between the airport vehicle roads and the taxiways. And I am aware of the excellent job you have done at Savanah (KSAV) related to vehicle lanes design. Jorge

    FSX Planner How-To Guides

The vehicle roads have to be linked to the taxiways in order for a fuel truck "to dispatch" a flight. A mere crossing without a node, between a vehicle lane and a taxiway (or parking taxiway) is not recognized by the vehicle. And because of this, a taxiing aircraft will sometimes meet with a...

    Airport Refueling Truck Tip

I posted this about a week ago: http://www.fsdeveloper.com/forum/showthread.php?p=37510#post37510 Actually you could add a truck for every parking spot if you would like. More trucks, it will be easier for a flight will be dispatched, but...be aware that vehicle traffic in the airport...

    Intersecting aprons

The enclosed image shows what I wanted to do. The upper concrete slab is what I was trying to do. The lower smaller individual slabs (eight- one for every aircraft parking spot) is what I would do with a custom texturized apron.

    Intersecting aprons

I was afraid you guys would say that! Thank you, I will split the bigger apron. I wonder if it is possible to place an Apron with a custom texture into an afcad file?

    Intersecting aprons

I have built a new appron to depict a concrete slab over the bigger asphalt appron all over the airport parking spots/taxiways. However after compiling, the new concrete apron will not show. When saving, FSXplanner places the new apron in the XML listing, before all the already existing...

    Airport Traffic

Some testing I did for SVMI (in FSX). This airport had by default only one fuel vehicle parking. When a flight is started at that airport, that truck "has the responsibility"to dispatch all flights. If there are several scheduled at the beginning (i.e 4:30 pm in SVMI) they have to wait until the...

A conclusion related with SVMI crosswind runways activation

Finally, this seems to be the right solution, given the behaviour of the sim. Keep reading. It won't be necessary to tweak aircraft weights, but I was wondering what I had to look for in the aircraft.cfg or even in the .air flight dynamics. Actually, Jim, that particular 757-200 (by AIA) is...

A conclusion related with SVMI crosswind runways activation

I just tried to shorten 09 length, but I started at 7000 ft. All heavies but one, (a 757 probably not defined as a heavy), departed via rwy 10. So it seems there are middle positions after all. Combining your solution with some changes could make this airport work a little bit better. I...

A conclusion related with SVMI crosswind runways activation

You two guys have an extraordinary knowledge of all this traffic/afcad subjects. Thanks for helping me so much. I'm learning a lot. I will answer the final part first. I have modified the airport since I posted the XML/BGL. I am attaching current files to this message, so you can take a look...

A conclusion related with SVMI crosswind runways activation

I'll keep trying with this. I can see by your explanations this is much more complex than I thought (and that should be). In the meanwhile I am busy fighting now to increase the general aviation traffic at SVMI (and other country airports). I can't see more than two aircraft simultaneously...

A conclusion related with SVMI crosswind runways activation

Jim, There is not doubt in my mind that the runway centers theory is discarded. However I believe my "extended axis" theory prevails over your "boundary" theory, at least to what SVMI refers. Take a look at SVMI.jpg (left) to understand what is going on. All aircraft from ramps A+B are...

A conclusion related with SVMI crosswind runways activation

Since the last time we exchanged messages in the FSXPlanner forum, http://www.fsdeveloper.com/forum/showthread.php?t=5729 I have made a lot of testing and arrived to a conclusion: The first testing session was related with creating more than one fake runway between 09 and 10 and trying...
