• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

By following these guidelines we make sure that the forums remain easy to read for everybody and also that the right people can find your post to answer it.

MSFS20 optimizing of variants / functions: submodel (merging) / model attachments

Hello, I have an EFB-like tablet that has mouse click zones to configure certain variables. Do you know if it is possible to move this tablet into a separate blender object and via the ModelAttachment instruction to incorporate it in an aircraft while maintaining the possibilities of...

List / show objects that use a specific material?

Hello, You have an other method with a script python which has been published by SAL1800. The post where this script is listed and described: https://www.fsdeveloper.com/forum/threads/blender-script-to-create-meshes-with-a-single-material-for-armor-paint-clean-uv-maps-etc.454425

MSFS20 Project migration to Blender 3.6.18 and pluging 1.6.12 (from RonH)

Hello, Some news of my migration: everything went well at the export level as for textures. I was even able to add additional slots on the windshield in order to visualize wear & dirt which was one of the main reasons to migrate to a much more up-to-date export plugin. The frozen parts stage...

MSFS20 Piston engine creation for MSFS

This aircraft is configured to use a TurboCompressor ... perhaps, it's one explication.

MSFS20 Piston engine creation for MSFS

Hello, When you create a simple piston engine for MSFS, you first create an engines.cfg file that you set up with the basic characteristics of the engine. Then the three more essential tables to be filled in are IMHO : engine_friction_table, engine_mechanical_efficiency_table and...

MSFS20 MSFS Asobo Official Blender exporter

Sorry if my English is not academic but as a French I try to do my best to exchange via this forum  PS: You give a lot of version number but if you do not specify the authors of these versions it is very difficult to find your way through all these numbers ;) What I wanted to say is that...

MSFS20 MSFS Asobo Official Blender exporter

To resume, IMO (and following the advice of people who have already posted on this topic) the best solution is to take - Blender 3.6.18 (or the last 3.6.21) in conjonction with - Asobo v1.3.3 plugin (you have the links below). This solution is 2020 & 2024 compliant. 1) Blender: The old release...

MSFS20 Project migration to Blender 3.6.18 and pluging 1.6.12 (from RonH)

Hello, Trying to use the button "Migrate Data" , apparently I had to make a mistake but the problem persists. In practice I took the materials one by one and migrated them thinking that this was the method to follow. To try to migrate safely, I finally duplicated my Blender project and on the...

MSFS20 The fault lights in my cockpit aren't lighting up.

No the only things important are the node name and the type of material.

My rearview mirror is not reflective

An other solution, is to create an image which represent the rear of the aircraft and use it as MSFS Standard to illustrate the view. It's a static solution but its is simple and works. To create a true mirror, perhaps it will be possible to see how P3D render it because on the last version...

MSFS20 The fault lights in my cockpit aren't lighting up.

Hi Pat, I use also LED in my aircraft to alert the pilot. The ModelBehavior used is very simple as you can see : <Component ID="LED_FUEL_RESERVE_ID" Node="led_fuel_reserve"> <UseTemplate Name="ASOBO_GT_Material_Emissive_Code"> <EMISSIVE_CODE>(A:FUELSYSTEM...

MSFS20 How to view ASOBO characters (pilot/copilot) in an aircraft used in multiplayer mode ?

Thanks very much Mathias. The tests were conclusive: this way of managing PILOT nodes works perfectly. It takes away a "bloody thorn in my foot". PS: The funny thing is that last night while waiting for the results of the tests carried out by the US team, I resumed the development of the...

MSFS24 2020 Plane boots up into 2024 with no fuel, no way to refuel.

Sorry for my answer but it is no a good reason: the new FUEL SYSTEM is compliant with the two simulators. The Super Stearman that we have released use this new system developped under the MSFS 2020 SDK and run perfectly under 2024 without any modifications. Regarding the Stearman Model-75...

MSFS20 How to view ASOBO characters (pilot/copilot) in an aircraft used in multiplayer mode ?

Thanks for your answer, Mathias. But I do not know if my question was well understood: in free flight mode I see both avatars when I select the outside view, there is no problem in this case. The only problem is when you fly several Stearman in multiplayer mode and try to see the pilots in...

MSFS20 How to view ASOBO characters (pilot/copilot) in an aircraft used in multiplayer mode ?

Hello, I just finished updating the Stearman (Model-75 and IB75A) that I have been developing for 2 years now and a user confronted me with a problem that I can’t solve because the Microsoft/Asobo SDKs do not seem to deal with the particularities associated with multiplayer (or I looked very...

Upgrade of .NET version of tools

MSFS20 Windsheild material - Detail scratch(R),Icing Mask(G),Fingerprints(B) Not implemented in the blender exporter?

Thank you for all your answers. @RonH: Yes, it's possible. I use several Blender (portable versions) in parallel : 2.83.19 - 2.93.9 - 3.3.18 to create aircrafts and two others versions 3.6.18 and 4.2 for PBR Painter tests (very interesting software to create PBR textures). Last week, I have try...

MSFS20 Windsheild material - Detail scratch(R),Icing Mask(G),Fingerprints(B) Not implemented in the blender exporter?

Hi, Sorry to bring up this old discussion but I try to put these practices in operation on a windshield for a current project but without success. I was working with Blender 2.83.16 and the plugin of Vitus 0.41.4 but my windshield appears as the one on post #5 (almost the entire windshield is...

MSFS20 The electrical starter circuit does not function properly

Hello, I just created an airplane that worked perfectly from the electrical point of view, that is to say that through the Debug tool of the electrical systems (DEVMod of the SDK) everything worked perfectly. It was a plane similar to the CAP10 of Asobo on the electric level with : a battery...
