For the vegetation you could also take a look at remote sensing data, which is freely available at usgs.
Or you could use land cover data, which you just have to convert to shapefiles:
Good morning every one!
Even though it's been a little quiet lately, I haven't been idle either. In the meantime I have completely reworked Rhineland-Palatinate and Saarland. This is now available for download!
And it goes on...
Since the release of photo sceneries is unfortunately a legal grey area,
I have removed the download links from the public area again as a precaution.
The download links for the photo sceneries are to be requested therefore by PN.
Anyway, I have completely reworked the Autogen for Hessen, which...
I completely rebuilt the autogen for Bavaria, simply because I improved the autogen during my project.
Here, as always the download link!
Yes, of course it has a watermask! ;)
I am using a self-created photoscenery, the imagery is from google maps, the watermask is based on OpenStreetMap data, and there is also a blendmask for the states...
But wait until tomorrow...
Oh, indeed... Especially LIDAR-Data or in any way processed data (building footprints, high resolution DEMs, etc...) are very, very expensive.
I tried to find data for countries where the data situation is much worse than in Central Europe (Africa...). In vain.
Yes, I spent a lot of time to get...
I am using the google satellite imagery with a resolution of 2 m/px. According to the google "fair use" rights, i am allowed to use these pictures... Otherwise it would be unaffordable.
Anyway, it is also quite a patchwork, so please...
I am currently planning to create photo-packages. Creating a "all-in-one" would be possible, but I could not share it due to my slow internet speed.
But I will create the photo packages on such a way, that you have then 13 autogen downloads, and 13 photoscenery downloads to cover whole germany.
Please wait with re-downloading all regions. I am currently working on a new version of Bavaria...
Just a hint: Enter "47.559814 N 7.734375 E" in Google... Then take a look at google maps, and take the next name... Enter it at google again, for "47.559814 N 7.734375 E" it is "Herten...
You don't have to be worried, everything's alright ;)
Yes, indeed, I could look every city in germany look up on google maps, create a special shapefile for the "Altstadt" and then create all the autogen again. To be honest, that will take months if not years. I'm afraid that's not worth the...
Oh, that's pretty easy to explain:
Imagine you have a agn-Tile, with a border straight over it. The left side is i.e. Hessen, the right side is Bavaria. So the tile with the autogen for Hessen is in Hessen-Download, the tile with the autogen for Bavaria is in Bavaria-Download.
Of course the...
As promised, the last part is ready for download!
The whole of Germany is now finished!
Then some more information... If desired!
I wrote in the first post: "For whole Germany I assume a size of approx. 350 GB, with 1 m/px aerial photos and 3...
