I am setting up an AI aircraft in a small scenery, the textures look good on the AI.
But when I move away to 1600 feet and further the textures drop out, you only see the base model gray. Anything below 1600 feet the AI textures look good.
I am not an aircraft modeler so I will ask a naive...
I am experimenting with FS2004 ground textures.
They are located in the scenery – world – texture folder.
I have been clicking on each one individually to see what the numbers (e.g. 003b2su6.bmp) look like, very time consuming.
Question: is there a collection of all the thumbnail image with...
Thank you for your persistence and patience helping me with my questions.
I must apologize though for my awkward way of asking my questions. I think they lead to difficulty for the person trying to help me. I know very little of the nuts and bolts of SBuilder, so it is hard for me to be...
Thanks GaryGB, I was able to do this with the LWM Flatten but not with the VTP2 ground poly. It wont let me change elevation (grayed out).
I can change one point at a time though and that seemed to fix the aircraft brake problem.
I think I made some headway.
1) AFCAD2 layer – set elevation at 942 meters.
2) SBuilder ground VTP2 poly layer points – set elevation points were at 0.
3) SBuilder FLATTEN layer - set elevation at 942 meters.
I tinkered with the VTP2 ground poly and was able to set one of the points to 942...
I am working on a country airfield where you need to get off the taxi way.
The aircraft brakes work fine on the runway and taxi way but when you get on the surrounding ground they do not stop the aircraft. I know this is possible to have the breaks work on the ground areas, I must have forgotten...
I am in the processes of relearning SBuilder for FS2004, from 8 years ago.
I am working with custom made ground textures (not photo textures). I am trying to remember why after making a ground texture with custom lines on it, I then compile bgl to FS9, I see that the textures are flipped...
Thanks for your kind responses. It is not a big deal. I am trying to finish off some older projects from 10 years ago. I am relearning SBuilder. Your program looks very nice, nice work. I guess us old farts still with WinXP are going to blow away soon.
I realize now that when I dug through some old CD disks of folders with scenery objects, I was picking out mostly the ones that where modeled in FSDS 2.24, and not realizing this. Though they open in FSDS 3 and will export a good .X file, there are problems with the 3D view screen...
My MakeMDL workaround:
The last couple of items that have check boxes, at the bottom, are uncheckable. The one that I use the most is Night Map on/off. So it is in and out of MakeMDL config file to turn it on and off before compiling.
