I can not solve this problem. I rebuild the airport in ADE and fixed the problem with the taxi lines by setting the wide to zero and also not drawing the default tarmac surface.
But with the ground polys, still the same problem:
Without the metioned line of code I have no autogen, if I add the...
Well, not a stupid question. I did follow this rule with the runway and the markings (center line) but forgot it on the tamac which was 140 x 60 meters.
However, I made new polygones, compiled it new and it did not solve the problem. Now the whole scenery seems to be messed up. I have default...
It looks a little better but still flickering. Also, some of the default taxi etc. is comming through.
The flickering shaddows are only on the 3D objects I made. If I look at some default library objects, like the fuel car, the shaddows are normal.
The flickering effect also stops, when I move...
8 for tarmac, taxi and the turn around area at the end of runway,
12 for the runway and 16 for the rw markings.
only in runway and markers, I included the new line of code in the asm files.
The flickering shaddows however are with all the airport buildings on the tarmac and the default...
I had the same problem today, with disapearing autogen, caused by the runway and runway markers BGL I made with the FS2002 gamepack and the BGLC_9 compiler.
Inserting the line in the .asm file did the trick and brought back the autogen.
But now I have a new problem: Since I inserted the new...
Yes, you have to set a GUID and a friendly name with the LODName Tool in the FS Tools Menu in the upper menu bar.
You can see a screenshot in this wiki article: http://www.fsdeveloper.com/wiki/index.php?title=Installing_FSX_GMax_gamepack
Sorry but...how exactly do I have to do it with the "No Crash" option in FSX?
Just select the Object in GMAX and open the Attachpoint Tool in the FS Tools, set the marker at "no crash" and then...?
Or do I have do edit a config file like in FS9?
Yes, that's mostly how I did it but without slicing and cutting the overlapping polygones. But I will try to do it. Thanks for the explaination.
During the whole process I had SbuilderX crashed two or three times and corrupted the work file. So I had to start all over again. Thats why I tried to...
I don't realy understand all that terrain stuff, with all that QMID ad LODs and whatsorever. If you are not native English, it is realy hard to read and understand that MS descriptions in the SDKs, so I gave it up.
This was my first attempt to do some terrain scenery for FSX and so far I did...
Ok, found the problem! The exclude area for shore lines and water polys was too small. I thought they would exclude everything onces they are within a 11 grid, so I made only a small exclude area overlapping a few grids. Only after I made the exclude area as big as the whole island, all problems...
Yes, but why not? The excludes work on QMID Grid 11, or not?
I excluded all water polys in that area and in that grid.
Next problem is comming up: What, if there are 2 islands within on grid? I found that I can cut 2 wholes in one water polygon (should be only one, I know) but only one shows...
As you can see in the picture, I already deleted the old shorelines and put the new ones.
The new shorelines were also used to crate the poly that cut the hole in the waterpoly.
So the water you can see between the new shoreline and the old landline should not be there.
How do I get the land...
After spending 10 or so hours in front of the screen, I finaly managed to make some Islands. Problem was, I had one big Island an some smaller ones arround, all overlapping the SQMID11 Grid.
Some of them are already there but needed new shorelines, also the big one, others are beeing created...
So, I made the whole object new from scratch. But when ever I try to apply a standart material via the Material Editor, gmax will turn it into a Multimaterial, I don't know why. If I use the Material Navigator however and drag and drop the material from there, it works! Strange!
I did put the texture like on any other object and as you can see, it_s showing in gmax but not in FS. Seems to be a problem with exporting. I had this problem before on other computers in different configurations. Always and only on a planar! That's why I always made my planars from a box.
