It can be challenging to sort these scenarios out now and then.
Feel free to take a break if its too frustrating; I'll be glad to try and help again when you are ready ... just let me know. :)
BTW: I use a utility to quickly search all NTFS drives using "*.BGL" as a query string...
While I noticed that I personally do not have a blank template copy of DLL.XML in my FSX install path root folder, I am able to un-install / re-install IS3. :scratchch
I do not recall whether it is required that one remove add-on entries from FSX.Cfg before attempting a un-install /...
It would be interesting to see if one can use a mix of Asphalt and Bituminous to make the RWYs closer in appearance to real life in areas where "Bituminous Conglomerate" was used at LIRF, with a 'smooth' surface FS aircraft GroundRoll attribute ...by using the above MCX XML Apron to SurfaceType...
Was there a particular reason you assigned Bituminous rather than Asphalt to LIRF RWYs ?
This shows that all LIRF RWYs are Asphalt:
I agree with Paul's caveat above, and also recommend a review of the very meticulous process Jeff (aka "QuantumLeap") provided you with in the thread at SimForums.
After making backups and verifying that your system is configured as...
Thanks for catching that DLL.XML 'path' issue that I missed above; looks like I've kept too many late nights recently !
Did you mean that you updated from FS9 to FSX, or from FSX_DVD to FSX_SE ? :scratchch
FYI: Your efforts thus far have been thorough, and it may be best at this point to clarify a few other things, so I shall await your reply to these questions.
* Did you run the Installer for IS3...
As Arno has pointed out previously, having a 4th NIR band is good for Autogen vegetation detection with ScenProc. ;)
But it is best to remove that band for SDK Resample imagery BGLs.
A discussion is linked below on doing that with Jim Robinson's method using GDAL via command line...
Sometimes if a OP does not receive replies to a thread on a timely basis, it is because others do care, but are not quite yet ready to address a task they know is going to be complex and time consuming to explain.
There are a number of ways to do what you need- and want- to do, but...

Thanks, Jim, for your original generous offer to update your existing tutorial on GMAX / xNormal methods.
I understand that you may have other activities which merit your attention right now, and that there are instead some pre-requisite self-study learning resources which you might otherwise...
Have you by any chance seen / tested this (uploaded here in 2016) ? :scratchch
IIRC, Jeff initially had goals of learning how to minimize 3D model Geometry complexity after using Components to maximize...
MCX has an Attached Object Editor with an "Auto-Platform" feature:
I'm not certain how far Arno has gotten with setting 3D object orientation after import to MCX, as the 'Transform' feature I...
I have not used AutoCAD for any detailed 3D scenery models, but I have utilized various 2D and 3D data files output by AutoCAD and other 3D modeling and GIS applications (some of which are also used by other products from Autodesk); these files can be imported into Sketchup with...
I'm not sure if this may prove useful, but considering where the error message Jim cited immediately above occurs within the ASCII strings one sees in SDK Resample program code, it seems TIFF file related.
Thanks, Jim, for that clarification as an advance teaser on your forthcoming updated tutorial; I'm looking forward to learning that workflow with an open mind. :)
I'm naturally interested in seeing if there is a way that we can possibly maximize existing and familiar productivity on the front...
Jim has been posting around the forums here at FSDeveloper again more recently; hopefully he may post an update in this thread as well. :)
NOTE: I sometimes restore...
Jim previously alerted us to not only the availability of an earlier version of PhotoShop for free download, but also some of the quirks of how it outputs certain file formats; what version are you using ? :scratchch
Here's a summary I put together regarding options seen in recent...
