P3D v4 Flaps Sound for Interior Only

Hello I read somewhere in the SDK taht if you use minimum_volum, the viewpoint is disregarded. If you want to use teh viewpoint you must use vparam/rparam.

Various questions on gauges - visibility, blinking text, and so on

Hello everyone, I'm designing/coding a landing rate gauge (called in a Window in panel.cfg) to display vertical speed and hard landing advisory (see code below - sim is P3D v4.5). In the process, I came accross issues that remain unsolved : - Gauge update : does a gauge need to be visible to...

    Maximum payload per station

Hello everyone You can define in the aircraft.cfg the different stations for payload. Is there a way to define a maxium payload for each station, with a check at the time user inputs payload in the fuel and payload menu ? From what I see, there is a check for MTOW but not more than that ...

Nav lights on a aircraft model with wingflex

Indeeed they hadn't lost their axes. But the final node came after a preliminary node which reset the reference point (or at least the general scale). This scale, at this node level, is 1/1000th of the "normal" scale. And so are the axes. So small that you can't see them.... To be mroe explicit...

Nav lights on a aircraft model with wingflex

Hi Tom Thanks for your reply. I did try that indeed. It seems that when you drag the attached effect under a different node, all coordonitaes are f**ed up because of the transformations existing in any parent (SceneNode or ModelPart). I have to determine again all coordinates for my attached...

Nav lights on a aircraft model with wingflex

Hello I am trying to add nav lights on an aircraft model that has wing flex animation. I created the effects in MCX very easily. I exported object, tried in P3D4. No issue. I then reopened MCX and used the Hierarchy editor to move the attached effect under the correct SceneGraphNode (the one...

Attached object disappearing from certain angle / point of view

I tried to inject that object in the sim as a library object via a "normal" BGL placement file and I did not experience the problem anymore. So that must be a simobject issue ??

Attached object disappearing from certain angle / point of view

Hello everyone I have a MDL file (taxiway poles and lights, 150 poles and 150 lights in one single object) that I inject in P3D4 as a simobject via SODE. The poles are basic cylinders, textured. The lights are effects (attached FX file). The poles are well displayed in the simulator (always...

List of active simobjects with position

Hello everyone Do you know of any possibility to get a list of all active simobjects in the sim with their position ? Additional question: do you know how I could get a list of all simobjects injected in the sim with simconnect , with their position ? Thanks

    Separation Plane

    Arno, I deleted the attachment.

    Separation Plane

Well I don't know for FS2004 in general, but I can certify that the PAPI lights for eh Madeira LPMA scenery from aerosoft are coded in ASM and it works perfectly in P3Dv4.5. It's not a separate MDL object, but a BGL file (LPMA_RWY-PAPI.BGL). Surprisingly, it does not use the Separation Plane...

    Separation Plane

Thanks Arno Indeed this Wiki is clear enough and quite comprehensive. Can you please confirm that tis concept is NOT documented in any SDK ? So, if I understand well, you can code a separation plane in ASM code up to the FS2004 SDK (including FS98, FS2002 ??). And then this concept has...

    Separation Plane

Hello developers! I have a few questions about separation plane concept. 1/ in which FS version was that concept first introduced? 2/ where can I find a detailed doc about how it works (I have tried to look in the FS2000 SDK but found nothing)? I need something starting with the basic basics...

    Xml gauge limits in FSX

Thanks Heretic, your suggested workaround did the trick. It's amazing too see that they set such a stupid limit to the newly implemented Update approach, so that you have to go back to the old FS9 (!!!) approach.... I already made the same comment when I saw that some "new" scenery were coded...

    Xml gauge limits in FSX

Many thanks, very clear ! I suspect it' s still the same limitation for P3D v4.5 ? If I setup another gauge for the update, do I have to copy in that new gauge all the macros used in teh Update section or will it make the cross-reference directly ? Thanks

Update element not executing till the end

Thanks Luka. I did try to split in two already with no improvement. When I said "problems" in my previous messages, I meant I have P3D crashing to desktop. Are you aware of any size limitation for an Update section in P3D v4.5 ? Can I have more than one Update section in an XML gauge ? Indeed...

    Xml gauge limits in FSX

Hello guys Sorry to jump in your convo. You talk here and there about an Update size limitation. Is that only for FSX ? I am writing a gauge where I have a rather large Update section which seems to be too bg at some poitn as I get a CTD. I thoght that such kind of limitations did not exist in...

    <Update> section limitations

Hello guys Sorry to jump in your conversation, but I have a related question, which is not fully answered by your comments so far. I run p3d v4.5. - in an XML gauge, can I have more than one <Update> object ? - is there a size limit for the <Update> object ? Is that limit applicable for...
