• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

By following these guidelines we make sure that the forums remain easy to read for everybody and also that the right people can find your post to answer it.

FS2004 Texture vs ground poly orientation

Don, absolutely clear. The current capability is more than enough to do the job very well. Thanks again for the time you spent in that.

FS2004 Texture vs ground poly orientation

Don, I think my explanation about the operation I did was not so clear. I create the poly in ADE, I send it to ADE GP and inside there I set the position and the size of the texture. Then I go back to ADE, I copy and paste and rotate the poly in ADE (because I need to have it in a new position...

FS2004 Texture vs ground poly orientation

Ok, it seems to work correctly. Thanks.

FS2004 Texture vs ground poly orientation

Right, the vertex number indication is ok. The strange rotation of the edge of the poly inside the ADE GP Editor is still present apparently randomly. A few tests made me think that it could be due to the fact that sometimes when in ADE display you rotate the poly, it could happen that the...

FS2004 Texture vs ground poly orientation

Perfect Don, many thanks and glad to be useful. I'll test it immediately and let you know... Ciao

FS2004 Texture vs ground poly orientation

Don, after I created the first poly, I removed the helper shape. I clic on the poly in ADE display, I copy and paste it in another place, then I rotate it using ALT + mouse wheel or ALT+CTRL + mouse wheel. As you can see in the Clipboard05 all the poly is selected (not only some vertex). Anyway...

FS2004 Texture vs ground poly orientation

Don, I'll try to better explain the operative sequence I did. I create with Helper Shape a rectangle Width 1.8m, Height 5.5m Heading 50 degrees. I used Make Ground Custom Poly on it. In AdeGP editor I select the texture I want to use. (Clipboard01) Now I rotate the poly to set it over the...

FS2004 Texture vs ground poly orientation

Hi Don, I made again the same operation and I noted that probably I rotated the poly in the wrong direction and this was the reason of the problem. But this is the reason for which the tooltip could be useful to have a reference...

FS2004 Texture vs ground poly orientation

Hi all. When I have a ground poly selected, I can pass over its vertexes reading one by one its related numbers (for example a rectangular poly has 4 vertexes numbered from 0 to 3). When I edit the poly, I loose the ability to understand the vertex number inside the editor. So many times (in...

    GP Textures Rename

Ok, thanks both of you. The only thing is, if I'm not wrong, that after compile I do not have any xml related to the GP part

    GP Textures Rename

Rick, I’m not focused on the efficiency of the render. It was just away to organise the name of my textures to give me a better and quicker way to recognise them. I usually use notepad++ that is more and more powerful than notepad. Anyway, what is the way to have .x file? It seems that ADE does...

    GP Textures Rename

Don't worry, my question is only a "nice to know". It's only due to an optimisation of my naming criteria in the project I'm working.

    GP Textures Rename

Thanks Rick, this could be a good way but I don't know exactly where to find the .X file you are talking about.

    GP Textures Rename

Hi, I renamed some texture I already used in my project. But doing so, now I realised that I have to re-edit all the ground polygons I created. This is not so easy. Would it be possible to have a group edit function, like that for the layer level, that allow to change only the name of the...

    Reset Display Heading command

Hi guys, if it can help, I made a few quick tests and it seems that the rotation to go back to north is made around the ARP and not around the mouse (cursor position). So obviously if the zoom is big after the rotation the new position is quite random... Even if I select some object (just to be...

    Reset Display Heading command

Hi Ed, thanks for your answer. I know what and where is the ARP. But as I explained above, it seems that the command does not center the project in the ARP but randomly in different places around the airport

    Reset Display Heading command

Hi all again. Just a quick question related to the "Reset Display Heading to North" command (space). I do not understand why every time I use this command the center of the display is set apparently to a random position around the airport instead of remaining in the last current position. This...
