• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

By following these guidelines we make sure that the forums remain easy to read for everybody and also that the right people can find your post to answer it.

    Taxi Sign Wizard

I think the confusion here is that the II that shows in the taxi sign wizard is not for just CAT II approach. It marks an ILS Critical Boundary Area. It is usually three of those symbols across and on a yellow background. It indicates the line you must pull forward of before letting ground...

New version of FSX Planner now available (May 19th, build 11)

Thanks for all your hard work! I am enjoying your program more and more with each version! :D One request. Would you mind adding code for the program to remember what directory you last opened an XML from? All my XMLs are in one place and each time I run your program I have to navigate...

WIP NAS Jacksonville (KNIP) for FSX

Great to hear! I'll be sure to grab it this afternoon. I've been telling a couple of other guys about it in 30, and I'm sure they'll get a copy as well. Thanks again for your hard work!

WIP NAS Jacksonville (KNIP) for FSX

Well... I guess I won't be too judgemental... :D Actually, I love to see any kind of improvement to military fields around FS. I know many simmers don't fly to them so there isn't much demand. Thanks for taking the time to do it! It does look pretty accurate from the pics. At least...

    Jetways: Am I missing something?

Thanks for pointing me to that thread! Reggie has definitely found out alot of useful information. In reading his post I actually found that there IS a deleteAllJetways statement and it works great! The only issue I'm having with the jetways now is that their scenery object is about 1...

    Jetways: Am I missing something?

Hi Jim! Thanks for the response. Yes. Well, I tried the exclusion in the AFCAD file, but then decided to go with an exclusion built with Sbuilder. The exclusion does NOT cover the areas where the new jetways should be (I figured out that the ref point for the jetway is at the cylinder...

    Jetways: Am I missing something?

Hi all. Once again I have to turn to the pros to help with a problem. I was developing KPNS (Pensacola) for FS2k4 but now am trying to get it ready for FSX as well. I am trying to get the jetways in my afcad and have used the attached code, but they just don't show up. Do you see anything...

    SketchUp is now free software

I've been playing around with Sketchup for some time now (the free trial version they had before). This is great news that they have a free version out, but unfortunately without the 3DS export it almost seems pointless. Some things I have noticed about 3DS... Good Much easier to...

    Negative values?

    Works great! Thanks Arno! Matt

    Negative values?

Yes, that is one of the first things I do. There have been too many times that I have forgotten to do that. Does MdlTweaker convert decimal to hex when it is compliling the new file? Maybe the overflow is in there? Taking the 2's complement of 20 decimal (14 hex) produces FFFFFFEC which may...

    Negative values?

Arno (or anyone else that knows!), I am using mdltweaker 0.21. I am using the variable for distance along z axis. While this does work great, it will only let me put in positive numbers. I am trying to make the object appear from -20m to 0m. I've tried it from 0m to 20m and it works...

    SceneryDesign.org team looking for reinforcement

Actually it does look to be freeware! What a cool find Frank! It's just the "related products" that you are encouraged to purchase before making your free download. As far as documentation format goes, I'm a big fan of PDF. Everyone should have the capability to view it as it is...

    animations with lights

Of course, I wasn't sure if MDLTweaker worked magic in the .mdl file, but I found out quickly that it doesn't. Back to the drawing board all together...

    SceneryDesign.org team looking for reinforcement

Don't know what you're coding in, but I'm able to write in C, C#, Java, and any other language you give me a week to figure out! I can also help with documentation if needed.

    animations with lights

Okay, I give in! :whiteflag Thanks for putting up with it for the past couple of days. If anything, I have learned quite a bit about the way asm works! Thanks! I've decided on a compromise. I'll make 2 models. One with the deicer sitting 30m away from the plane and the other one will be...

    animations with lights

I agree with you Nick that the attachpoint for the effects are called in a separate section named ATTA. We can't change the attachpoint that is called in this section as noted above. However, I was trying to take one step back from there. Instead of changing the attachpoint that is called...

    animations with lights

Well, I'm not one to be defeated by code! :) I've tried messing with the SCEN table. I was hoping to look for the condition in there. It might work, but I cant seem to get my offsets right. Here's the original code: bgl_scene_graph_entry_15 label byte BGL_SCENEGRAPH_ENTRY 15, -1...
